The S6 Edge led to Samsung releasing an S7 Edge the following year, but both times also offering versions of the phone with “flat” 2.5D glass instead of curved displays. After that, though, Samsung went all-in on the design. The ill-fated Note 7 was only available with a curved display. So was the Galaxy S8.
Curved Screens Are FragileBut curved screens exemplify that fact. The extended screen naturally means more glass area to fall on and crack, and less structure to take a fall. And being a curved screen, it can be harder to get a grip on as the device is thinner at the edges, so you may be more prone to drop your phone.

Our Verdict. The Galaxy S10 Plus is one of the best phones money can buy, with fast performance, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, improved cameras and extra-long battery life.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20The S20 Plus produced the best photos of any of the Galaxy S20 models released this spring. But the Galaxy Note 20 features the exact same optics, including that impressive 64MP telephoto lens, so you'll get the same fantastic camera performance.
2.5D is a term used for glass displays that feature a slight curvature at the edges known as contoured edges. Remember that the curved edges might not be noticeable from afar, but you can see and feel the difference when you hold a phone bestowed with 2.5D glass in your hand.
The Galaxy S20 comes with the Apps, Smart Select, and Tools Edge Panels come enabled by default.
Galaxy S20 Ultra FEGalaxy S20 FE is the phone that gives you what you want, to do more of what you love.
It was announced and released in December 2019. The phone has a Super AMOLED FHD+ 6.5" display, a 48 MP wide, 12 MP ultrawide, 5 MP depth, and 5 MP macro camera, a 4000 mAh battery, and an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor.
It's IP67-rated water-resistant, has wireless charging (two things Samsung has pioneered for years, yet the A51 does not include), the same processor as the one in Apple's flagship iPhone 11 for superior performance, and packs a solid camera. The Galaxy A51 is fine.
The ultra wide-angle cam is a significant upgrade from the one on the A50, and it offers improved sharpness and detail. Dynamic range is also substantially better, making for an altogether pretty capable ultra-wide camera as far as midrangers go. Low light photos out of the Galaxy A51 aren't great.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 users report a lot of issues with OneUI which freezes while transition animations are lagging, as well.
Though the Galaxy A71 is the better device of the two in the specs department, it also comes at a higher price. As you can see from the specs comparison below, the Galaxy A71 has a bigger display, more RAM, higher base storage, higher-resolution primary camera, larger battery, and faster-wired charging than the A51.

Samsung uses a flat panel display on the Galaxy A51 which is a fresh departure from the curved screens found on some of the more recent models. If you are worried about scratching this Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, Samsung has also preinstalled a screen protector for good measure.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 arrives to join the eponymous Galaxy A-series line of phones. On this phone, Samsung loads plenty of features such as a 48MP shooter, a stunning Super AMOLED display, and a very capable Exynos 9611 chipset.
It can pass for an expensive Samsung at a distance, particularly as the large four-lens camera housing on the back looks advanced. This phone is a fair size too, made for media and wider than the Galaxy S20. Like most phones at the price, the Samsung Galaxy A51 offers no official water resistance.
Turns out, a phone wrapped in glass with curved edges and a small supporting frame might not be the best move for durability. According to emerging reports, the Galaxy S8 is surprisingly easy to break. It's the only phone to have suffered cracks on both the front and back after a 6-foot drop test, the company reports.
Curved screens are also widely used in IMAX and standard movie theaters for their ability to produce natural expressions and draw the audience deeper into the scene. A standard IMAX screen is 22m wide and 16m tall, but there are screens with even larger dimensions.
Apple is developing gesture control and curved screens for iPhones, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter. But the technology won't be ready for at least two years, Bloomberg said. Apple is also working on an iPhone display which would curve inward from the top to the bottom.
