As Draven it's all about being aggressive in lane and that can be hard to do with shield supports. One of my absolute favorite supports to lane with as Draven is a Leona or a Thresh. Especially Leona with her infinite cc and the damage bonus with her passive.
In reality, she's an above average adc that's very good on teams that lack utility. But she isn't flashy, isn't mobile, and doesn't do insane damage, so people don't really care about her unless she's OP. Ashe is pretty great.
Leona Counter PickThe strongest counter would be Maokai, a easy to play champion who currently has a Win Rate of 53.55% (Good) and Play Rate of 2.27% (High).
Roaming supports, preferably with decent poke, like Bard, or someone who can make use of his mobility and burst potential, like Rakan, Thresh or Taric. Ezreal can hold a 1v2 in lane while you look to pressure others, even against aggressive lane opponents.
Actually, most support can be good with Trist, since she is really versatile: if you have Alistar or Leona, you can jump in for sick all-ins, if you have a soraka, you can just afk farm But I really like Braum (protect and good engage) and Lulu (because she protects you and pokes, giving the ennemy a hard lane to
Lulu or Thresh would be my picks. Lulu,sona,nami,Leona blitz. I like supporting Vaynes with Nami. Janna seems like a good pick too but I've learnt that she's a risky pick.

She's not a real support, and I would recommend against putting her in your roster. Right now, if you wanna hard carry games as a support, get good at hard engage tank supports.
Ashe doesn't have any of this. So, unless you buy armour and health, you will still be squishy. Third, all support champions have some small way to boost their ADC on other characteristics like: attack speed, movement speed, AD, AP. Ashe has none of these.
Ashe only has one ability with an AP scaling (we are compensating by buying Lichbane or Nashors to give her 2-3 active damage sources), this means she needs to pack a ton of damage into these few damage sources, and therefore has to maximize the stat gain per gold spent.

The key word here is 'now'. Ashe is always strong she just doesn't see play until everything stronger gets nerfed. She has tons of utility. It's almost like a support champion with damage (they nerfed mages bot and enchanters strength because of that btw).
The consensus in the community is that she is a late-game hyper-carry, but this data is not confirming that. Ashe has the clearest mid-game strength out of the champions in this dataset.
Ashe is probably the ADC with the most utility in the game, bringing perma slows and a stun lasting up to 3.5 seconds, the longest duration stun in the game.
Ashe has a simple kit to force new players who decide to play adc to learn the fundamentals to climb instead of learning mechanics (similar to how solo laners play annie). Ashe is easy to play, similar difficulty level to Annie, MF and Sivir.
Ashe is extremely powerful in the mid lane and is excellent in late game team fights, but she is extremely delicate and has no escape mechanics. Play Ashe cautiously, always picking fights that benefit you. By mid game, you should be engaging in ganks and team fights.
Ashe is helpful as she does a lot of damage late game and also provides CC. Her ultimate ability, Enchanted Crystal Arrow, is the longest stun in the game as it can stun for up to 3.5 seconds, and is global, so it can be shot anywhere on the map.
