Overall WVU is a great place to go to school. You can meet the best of friends and the classes are awesome. WVU is great. The faculty really care about you if you chose to get to know the faculty.

1. The Genuine People. As a freshman you meet tons of new very cool and intelligent people at West Virginia because the people in Morgantown are a lot more relaxed. They always like to talk about their interests and goals, but unlike most people in the outside world people at WVU have a genuine ear and listen very well

We discourage bringing a car to campus for first-time freshman students who are not commuting. However, our policy does permit first-time students to have a car. To be eligible to purchase a parking permit, students must be registered for fall class and have completed their new student orientation.
What to Bring/What to Leave
- Rain-wear and umbrella.
- Room decorations (decorations should be hung with products that do not damage the walls)
- Bathrobe, shower shoes, shower bucket, towels, and washcloths.
- Two sets of linens, blankets and pillow; sizes vary for Seneca Hall and Oakland Apartments, see chart for information specific to each hall.
All single, first-year students are required to live in a University residence hall. In addition, transfer students with fewer than 29 transferable credit hours are also required to live in a residence hall.
Pets of any kind are not permitted in the residence halls.
Students will return to West Virginia University's three campuses to begin fall classes on Wednesday, Aug. 19, the University announced Wednesday (June 3). Students will remain on campus, with no fall break, through Nov. 24, then depart for Thanksgiving Break, not returning to campus for the rest of the fall semester.
