Fentimans is a botanical brewery based in Hexham, Northumberland, England.
The surname Fentiman was first found in Yorkshire where they held a family seat as Lords of the Manor. The Saxon influence of English history diminished after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The language of the courts was French for the next three centuries and the Norman ambience prevailed.
Did you know, the iconic dog icon that features on our logo is actually Thomas Fentimans' pet dog Fearless. Fearless was a Crufts winner in the Obedience Class in 1933 and 1934 and his image remains on our bottles to this day!
Ginger Beer is a classic Ginger soda that was first brewed in England in the mid-1700's. Traditionally Ginger Beer was brewed just like a beer, to provide an unparalleled depth of flavour. Our Ginger Beer is brewed over 3 days and is alcohol-free making it a refreshing soda or the perfect ingredient for a Moscow Mule.
Fast-forward to today, and ginger beer is a non-alcoholic beverage with a robust, spicy and aromatic flavor. It's made with a blend of ginger, water and sugar that's fermented with yeast, then carbonated and bottled.
Type of tonic: Tonic Water. Launched in 2007, Fentimans Tonic Water is a stalwart on the botanically flavored tonic water scene. It has an organic grain base, which is then flavored with lemongrass and quinine bark. It was known for the fact that it included its own botanicals.
Fentimans Victorian Lemonade has the juice of one and a half lemons in every bottle! Combining this juice with our botanically brewed base creates a mouth-wateringly refreshing lemonade. This product is gluten free and suitable for vegans. All natural ingredients.
For Fentimans Ginger Beer, Chinese ginger roots are used which are brewed with the other ingredients in an elaborate production process, as was customary a hundred years ago. This process produces a low alcohol content of 0.05% alcohol.
Despite its beer content, some customers may confuse it with an actual alcoholic beverage. In actuality, like all Fentimans products, all alcoholic content is removed during the brewing process with only 0.5% trace amounts remaining, as with nearly all common soft drink products on the market.
Traditionally brewed craft beer blended with natural lemon juice to deliver maximum flavour and refreshment. Pour over ice into a tall glass and garnish with a slice of lemon. No more than 0.5% alcohol per volume.
The beverages are .5% alcohol by volume, but classified as soft drinks and consumable by children—you don't taste the alcohol. It's the only botanically brewed and fermented beverage available in the U.S. WHY WE LOVE IT: The unfiltered, old-fashioned flavors and physical beauty of the bottles are a treat.
The original flavours and aromas are retained, but the beverages lack the sharpness or warmth of alcohol. Some of the products are naturally free of alcohol.
