Singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Prince scored two number one singles with "When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy" with the Revolution. Overall, Prince spent seven weeks atop the chart.
Dexys Midnight Runners' track was just one of the catchy hits to top Billboard charts in 1983. Another sticky track that year was Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," which held its No. 1 spot for a whopping seven weeks, right before "Come On Eileen" knocked it off its top position for good in April.

On October 31st, 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two trusted Sikh body guards outside of her house. They were seeking revenge for the events at Amritsar. After her death, there were several incidents of violent retaliation against the Sikh population by ordinary Indian citizens.
