What's Streaming on Hulu in December 2020: New The Hardy Boys Series, Lord of the Rings Movies, New Letterkenny and More. Hulu has the holiday spirit and they're helping to close out 2020 with new shows as well as movies that we love to rewatch.
However, Disney is offering The Lord of the Rings trilogy on Hulu. This could the first step to a long journey, much like the Fellowship's journey to destroy the Ring.
How long is Fellowship of the Ring?
All three films - The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King - are now showing on the Sky Movies channels as well as being available on demand, on Sky Go and Now TV.

The first movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, appeared on the streaming service twice in 2019, only to be removed within weeks each time. ScreenRant reports that, in order for the streaming platform to be able to add titles to its lists, it has to pay the studio holders to get the rights.
Nothing in the Hobbit movie trilogy requires knowledge of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It obviously helps if you already know a bit about Middle-Earth, but it's not necessary. I would watch The Hobbit first, because it's an easier "getting into it" trilogy, while The Lord of the Rings is a lot heavier.
Where can you stream the Hobbit? Sadly, nowhere is currently streaming the movies, at least in the United States. If you have a Netflix DVD subscription you'll be able to pick up the movies there but otherwise, you'll have to fork out some cash to get the trilogy.
However, if you want to start with LOTR, you should watch them in chronological order: The Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers and the Return of the King. It will make sense that way. And then you can go watch the Hobbit (you'll love the ending of the Hobbit more if you watch LOTR first).
That's right, the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy is now on Netflix. No, not the extended editions with all the appendices and so on. You still need to go out and buy physical copies of those.
Although Ian McKellen does not seem to be reprising his role as Gandalf, we can at least take comfort that we will be able to return to Middle Earth for Amazon's upcoming Lord of the Rings series.
