This particular system utilizes the Magnuson MP112 supercharger with an internal bypass valve. It reduces parasitic drag on the supercharger to less than 1 hp during normal driving conditions. We knew Dan was one of those Turbo Buick guys, but additionally used an '06 Trailblazer SS as his daily driver.
The used Trailblazer SS was only sold from 2006 to 2009 and it was actually pretty rare with just 26,441 built. During the time when the Trailblazer was being produced, GM was also building the Saab 9-7X, which was essentially a rebadged Trailblazer that is much more of a unicorn.

How much horsepower does a 2008 TrailBlazer SS have?
390 hp
The Trailblazer SS (TBSS) intake is tall like the early truck manifolds but a little wider. The TBSS will make more torque than the earlier truck intakes and yet will make more horsepower than the old LS6 intakes. The biggest issue with the TBSS is its height, which means it can be a tight fit with the hood closed.

As with the Encore GX, the Trailblazer offers two different turbocharged three-cylinder engines, a 1.2-liter and a 1.3-liter. The 1.2-liter engine comes only with front-wheel drive and is equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), while the 1.3-liter offers optional all-wheel drive.
In the AWD version the next link is the Torsen T-3 transfer case which is said to be nearly bulletproof (we'll see), and finally on to the American Axle Manufacturing-produced 9.5-inch rear axle (and front axle on the AWD model) sporting a 4.10 gearset from the factory.
The difference between LT and LTZ is simply the standard options that are included on the truck. Generally speaking, the LT model has cloth seats whereas the LTZ model comes standard with leather.
The AWD version, with its Torsen center differential, has a 6600-pound tow rating, and the RWD model is capable of towing 6800 pounds. The SS package retails for $5195 on anything from base cloth-seat TrailBlazers to fully loaded ones, so you can pick the equipment level and whether to go with rear- or all-wheel drive.
A True Super Sport SUVSo yes, the Trailblazer SS is still the best performance SUV you can buy used. The only vehicles cheaper are used European performance SUVs that are only cheap because they require their purchase price every year in maintenance.
