A lacquer paint is clear coating that, when dried, produces a solid, durable finish. It is designed to be chip-resistant, waterproof, and breathable. Lacquers can be applied to a variety of surfaces such as wood and metal and they come in a range of colours, as well as clear finishes.
Common acrylic paints are Tamiya, Model Master Acryl, Mr. Color, Humbrol Acrylic, and Citadel. Note that Tamiya is not a real full, water based acrylic. It's still solvent based or some such, and should be thinned with Tamiya's brand acrylic thinner at a minimum.
Mr. COLOR hobby paint is a paint that has long been regarded highly by modelers world wide as a model paint that delivers an outstanding finish. Color paint, both to thin paint if desired, and also to clean paint brushes and airbrushes.

Unlike acrylics, enamel paints need a toxic enamel thinner for general clean up. Lacquer paints are solvent-based. Although lacquer paints are not suited for hand painting, they are excellent for airbrushing. When dry they are the most durable of the three types of paint and also dry the fastest.
Color leveling thinner at a ratio of 2:1 (thinner: paint). After the paint has dried grab a q-tip and just start to brush it across the model. The longer you brush, the brighter the metallic will start to shine.
Tips On The Use of Mr Super Metallic Paints: For SM206, be sure to apply Mr. Color or Mr. Spray Color Black (gloss) as a base coat color before painting in order to give the best metallic touch.
You can consider Mr. Color Thinner to be a 'generic' lacquer thinner. Leveling Thinner is slightly different than MCT. The thinner in MLT is blended with a retarder; the retarder slows down the drying time of paint.
Mr. LEVELING THINNER is excellent for spray (airbrush) applicators. LEVELING THINNER into Mr. COLOR at a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 improves coat leveling and increases shine. When drying is slow because of insufficient air current during winter months, it is best to mix Mr.
Bottled lacquer paints from Tamiya mean you can broaden your creative horizons. Their resilient finish makes them ideal to use as a basecoat, they are resistant to enamel paints, with swift drying times ensuring an efficient painting process.

Aqueous paint refers to all paint that may be diluted with water, as opposed to paint that requires volatile solvents to be dissolved. Examples of aqueous paints include tempera, polymer colors, gouache and watercolor.
It works just fine. The lacquer thinner is noticeably “stronger†than the acrylic thinner, both in how it interacts with Tamiya acrylics and how it smells.
