Read mistborn first. You'll get more of the references in stormlight. Also read elantris and war breaker. Actually, just read all his books, but read stormlight chronicles last.
It's not better than The Stormlight Archive but it's totally worth reading, and will become more so the more Cosmere books get released. I read Mistborn after I had finished TWoK and WoR. I liked the trilogy, although not as much as the Stormlight books. The series really helps shed light on what Shards are.
Era 2 consists of The Alloy of Law, Shadows of Self, The Bands of Mourning, and a forthcoming book. Sanderson announced in July 2020 that he will begin writing this fourth book of Era 2, Mistborn: The Lost Metal, in January 2021.
The cosmere is the greater universe in which The Stormlight Archive - and many of Brandon Sanderson's other adult fiction books - take place. Elements of the cosmere are slowly being added into the books, behind the scenes, until they come into the forefront with Dragonsteel and the final Mistborn trilogy.
Feature film based on Brandon Sanderson's fantasy book about a crew of rebels with magical abilities that are trying to overthrow a nefarious ruler.
Normally, Secret History is sorted as #7.5 in the order of the books, right after Bands of Mourning. However, the novella covers events from the first trilogy only so you can read it before Era 2.
Malatium, also known as the Eleventh Metal, is a metal that allows a mistborn burning it to see a vision of possible other lives someone else could have led, and different paths they could have taken. It is similar to Gold, in that it is an external version of the same power. It is an alloy of Atium and gold.
Especially with monsters like Stormlight, where it's about Journey before Destination, it's absolutely worth taking the time to read Warbreaker before WoR, even if not absolutely necessary. If you finish Way of Kings, you might not want to take a break with some other book before WoR, so that's a safe bet.
I would say the Mistborn series is worth a read. Personally I liked the second trilogy more than the first, but it wouldn't really make sense to read them out of order.
Kelsier's crew are a band of charismatic and charming rogues of the mayhem causing kind. The dialogue between them all is so dynamic and it's great characters like this that make Mistborn such an enjoyable trilogy. Allomancy is perhaps THE BEST system of magic I have ever came across within the fantasy genre.
Brandon Sanderson is a Mormon, and not all Mormons believe the same thing about God. Some are called henotheists, which means they believe in many gods but only worship one of them.

Plenty of adult fantasy novels feature teenage protagonists. Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn books come to mind, as Vin is only sixteen in those books. Since Sanderson broke into the YA scene with The Rithmatist and Steelheart, both released in 2013, I've noticed that Mistborn has been rebranded as a YA book.
The vast majority (even names you've heard about) have day jobs because even with multiple books out they only earn a few thousand a year. Take into consideration some of the following: Average advance for debut fantasy authors is $5,000 and $10,000 is considered really good.

Mare was Kelsier's wife, and the person whom everyone assumed betrayed Kelsier. However, when Vin discovered that it is possible to pierce copperclouds, it was determined that Mare did not betray Kelsier on purpose, as the Lord Ruler simply was able to see her Tin burning through the coppercloud who was with them.
During the third book, Vin absorbs all of the Mists, becoming Preservation. After Ruin arranges for the death of Elend, Vin uses her new power as the God Preservation to kill Ruin, which also results in her own death. Sazed then absorbs the power from the bodies of Vin and Ruin and becomes Harmony.
mistborn does indeed have a romance plot and i think it's beautiful. There is some romance. In the second era, though, there is honestly a quite beautiful relationship/romance between our main hero and his (eventual) wife which makes me smile when re-reading it.

5 Answers. The two unknown metals are Cadmium and Bendalloy, which allow the burner to slow down or speed up the flow of time in a bubble that surrounds them. Sanderson answered this question on his forum.
