In the event of a spill, non-acid primers (Magic Bond) are far less likely to cause a chemical burn to the skin. Primer is only applied to the natural nail.
Bonder/ Acid free Primer: The acid free primer or bonder are the same. It does not contain acid so it is not the same as the Primer! The primer removes humidity on the nail surface but the bonder has another function! The bonder will give the perfect adhesion between the gel/acrylic and the nail surface.
The dehydrator is applied to the unpolished nail to dissolve the oils on the nail, making sure that whatever you put on it sticks. The primer is applied to the unpolished nail as a first layer, before applying colored polish or artificial enhancements.
Ph Bonder is supposed to further dehydrate the nails for maximum gel adhesion. I honestly can't tell if using it makes a difference for me, but it is the cheapest of the ASP products you'll buy and I figure I may as well follow the recommended steps for the best results. Brush a thin coat of Bonder on all nails.
The easiest way to make a DIY Nail Primer and Dehydrator is by using a combination of Acetone and Isopropyl Alcohol. When correctly used together Acetone and Isopropyl Alcohol can remove most of the oil and moisture from your nails allowing your acrylics and gel polish to last longer without lifting.
Alcohol will do the same job as a dehydrator and removes debris and moisture, oils, etc. Even if you have some regular rubbing Alcohol, clean your nail and see that it dries up very well. It'll turn almost white in and around the nail. After your polish is completely dry, REHYDRATE with cuticle oil.
For use with the 'Professional Application' of Gel Polish. Primer helps to prepare the nails to ensure the longest lasting finish possible.
Product descriptionOur protein bond is the leader in non-acid adhesion. This is a corrosive-free primer with a proprietary polymer that bonds to the keratin structure. This bonder creates an extra sticky surface on the natural nail and is suitable for acting as a gel, polish, and acrylic anchor.
Here are some of the best nail bonders brands in the industry: Pink Gellac Primer for Gel Polish Adhesion (15ml / 0.5 fl oz) by Pink Gellac. Soak-Off Gel Polish Chip Free Bonder. Orly nail bonder.
After the cleanser, apply one layer of the gel primer to each nail and let this air dry. It's just a clear solution, sort of like a base coat and will dry in really quickly. Next up make sure you get the LED lamp plugged in and set up. Then apply a really thin layer of the gel base and top coat to each nail.
After much anticipation, OPI is proud to announce that Bond-Aid is now available. Bond-Aid serves as a conduit facilitating bonding between the natural nail and acrylics, nail gels or polish. And when applied on the natural nail before the nail polish, the polish benefits from more durability and less chipping.
Getting it on the skin can cause blistering and cause the nail to lift from the nail bed. It can also cause allergic reactions and contact dermatitis. Non-acid primer works sort of like double sided sticky tape to improve adhesion in nail enhancement products.

Acrylic Primer Undercoat can be used on a variety of correctly prepared surfaces such as wood, metal and plaster. It's ideal to have in the van for those unexpected situations and everyday use.
Base coat is the first coat of the paint color you will be using to finish the room (the second and third coats come after the base coat). Primer is used before using the base coat. Primer is a mix of glue and paint which allows better adherance of the paint.
Primer is a very Important step in acrylic application. Primer “primes” the nail plate to enhance the adhesion of the acrylic nail to the nail plate. Applying nail dehydrator and nail primer before applying plastic nail tips will cause the nail tip to not properly adhere to the nail plate and pop off.
To use, lightly rough up the nail, remove the dust and place the brush just behind the free edge and let the primer flow onto the nail to the cuticle, being careful not to touch the skin. Don't flood the nail. Let it dry. The second application should dry to a matte finish, then apply your acrylic or UV gel.
