The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and The Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Canada (CPHR Canada) have signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement to advance the HR profession in North America.
To become a Human Resources (HR) Professional; a degree, diploma or certificate in a field related to human resources management, or a related field such as business management, commerce, industrial/labour relations, or labour studies is generally required.
To earn the right to use the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation, applicants must have a degree from a recognized educational institution. The degree does not need to be in human resources. Once a degree has been earned, there is no time limit on the validity of the degree.

The CHRP Employment Law Exam is an application-based knowledge exam for workplace and employment law. It is a multiple-choice exam (approx. 100 questions) which will assess basic knowledge of employment and workplace law in Ontario.
