The ideal file format choice for print is TIFF, followed closely by PNG. With your image opened in Adobe Photoshop, go to the "File" menu and select "Save As". This will open the "Save As" window.
The best programs for opening and editing PSD files are Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements, as well as CorelDRAW and Corel's PaintShop Pro tool. Other Adobe programs can use PSD files, too, like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects.
If you export in PNG format, all layers are rasterized. This format aren't vectorial and doesn't support layers. Only Adobe Fireworks (Dismised) can save . png with all layer, but are readable only by itself.
There is no difference between psd and png because every texture will convert to what you set in inspector.
The main difference between JPEG and PSD is the applications they are connected to. JPEG is actually a standard format that is not tied to any application. In comparison, PSD is the native file format for Photoshop, a very popular photo editing software. With PSD, you only have Photoshop that can open the file.
A file with the PSB (Photoshop Big) file extension is an Adobe Photoshop Large Document file. The format is almost identical to Photoshop's more common PSD format except that PSB supports significantly larger files, both in image dimension and overall size.
Answer: Photoshop work area consists of Application Bar, Tools Panel, Options Bar, Document Window and Panel Dock. The Application Bar contains menu Bar along with many controls to zoom, buttons for viewing extras. The Tools Panel contains a set of Tools for selecting, manipulating images.
Select "File > Place" from the application menu to pull up the "Place" dialog box. Locate and select the EPS file you would like to import into Photoshop, click on it, and click "Place." The file will appear with a bounding box around it over your Photoshop canvas.
Access the New Document dialog
- Launch Photoshop.
- Do one of the following: Use the following keyboard shortcut: (Mac) Cmd+N. (Windows) Ctrl+N. Select File > New. Click New or Start New in the Start workspace. Right-click the tab for an open document and choose New Document from the in-context menu.
PDF is the current and future of publishing. If you have a vector Illustrator document, save it in PDF or AI (see below). PSD (native Photoshop format) is great for most files from Photoshop, as long as you're not using them programs other than InDesign, and there's no vector stuff in there that you're trying to save.
To add an artistic border to an image:
- Open a one-layer document, then click the Background on the Layers panel.
- Choose the Rectangular Marquee tool (M or Shift-M), then draw a selection marquee.
- On the Options bar, click Refine Edge.
Select a layer or group, choose Layer > Arrange, and choose a command from the submenu. If your selected item is in a group, the command applies to the stacking order within the group. If the selected item is not in a group, the command applies to the stacking order within the Layers panel.
The Healing Brush tool allows you to fix image imperfections such as scratches, blemishes, etc. By sampling the surrounding area or using a predefined pattern you can blend the imperfections into the rest of the image. The healing brush tool is located in the Photoshop Toolbox, on the left side.
A TIFF file is an Image file, A Photo. It is not editable in a text editor. A tiff is an image (tagged image file format), and can only be edited using an image editing application like Photoshop.
When you open a pixel image such as a TIFF, PSD, or JPEG, the default option is “Edit Original” (Figure 7.5). This is almost exactly the same as choosing “Edit original” in the main Edit Photo in Adobe Photoshop dialog (Figure 7.2). [PC]), all the edit options are available.
TIFF is uncompressed. RAW also is uncompressed, but is like the digital equivalent of a film negative. Unlike TIFF, a RAW file first needs to be processed or developed using Image Data Converter or other compatible software.
The PNG (Portable Network Graphics) format comes close to TIFF in quality and is ideal for complex images. Unlike JPEG, TIFF uses a lossless compression algorithm in order to preserve as much quality in the image. The more detail you require in graphics, the better PNG is for the task.
Lightroom can import 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit TIFF images. The TIFF format provides greater compression and industry compatibility than Photoshop format (PSD), and is the recommended format for exchanging files between Lightroom and Photoshop.
The Photoshop PSD (Photoshop Document) image format is actually a TIFF container, and lossless compression is applied automatically when you save a PSD image. In that way, saving a PSD image is very similar to saving a TIFF image with the LZW compression option selected.
There is no single RAW file format. PSD is a propriatory Adobe format that contains edited sensor data. The original sensor data is no longer available. TIFF contains the same data as PSD but the file is a public domaing format.
Layers. Standard TIFF doesn't support layers. If a Photoshop document with layers is saved as TIFF Photoshop creates a flat TIFF image file (for compatibility) and the layer data in a separate TIFF tag. ZIP usually results in smaller files, smaller even as if saved as PSD (where you can't choose the compression format)
Obtain a graphics program with the ability to process TIF and PSD files, such as Photoshop or Fireworks. Load the TIF image file by clicking “File” then “Open” and browse until you find its location. Go to “File” in the menu, click “Save as” and select “PSD.”
