Darth Vader's true identity was a closely guarded secret, and only a handful of people knew he was really Anakin Skywalker. Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker was a celebrated hero of the Clone Wars, and the galaxy believed he was killed during Order 66, along with the rest of the Jedi.
We go for the more simple answer, further considering the details of the question itself. If Anakin didn't go into that chamber as the Jedi confronted Palpatine, then Mace Windu would have defeated Palpatine, killing him. If you remember, Mace had him. He was ready to kill him.
He had the chance to kill Anakin in Episode III, but chose not to because he considered Anakin to be his brother. But for the sake of argument, if Obi-Wan did kill Anakin, there wouldn't be a need for Episodes IV, V, or VI. It would have been impossible for Luke or Leia to redeem their father if he was no longer alive.
By that point Obi-Wan knew that Anakin was un-savable. Anakin needed to be killed to keep him from turning into a galactic dictator. But Obi-Wan couldn't bring himself to kill someone he considered a brother. So then, Obi-Wan didn't pull Anakin out of the lava because he wanted him to die a terrible death.
Vader would have been summarily executed, except that by the end of ROTJ he was no longer Vader, he was Anakin Skywalker, returned; he was Luke's father and Luke would never stand for it. If Darth Vader had survived at the end of Return of the Jedi, then Luke would immediately take him into hiding.
Anakin and Palpatine were then engaged in a fast and fierce duel. It was fierce, that some of the Clone troopers actually stood back. After the duel went on, Palpatine used Force lightning to push Anakin off the platform that they were standing on. Palpatine walked to edge, but found Anakin hanging on for dear life.
Anakin would have trained them, more then likely outside of the order so he could be with them. They wouldn't be Jedi but they would be force users. Anakin would probably leave the order to be with his family. They would move back to Naboo and live in the country side where he would teach them the ways of the force.
Yes. When Vader turned back to anakin and sacrifice himself to save his son, he dies and obi wan uses the force to connect with anakin spirit. And in that time anakin apologizes to obi wan, desperately asking him to forgive him for everything he has done to him and everybody over the years.
If Obi-Wan had saved him his only goal probably would be to kill the rest of the Jedi and Palpatine, so not really anything different. I think if Obi-wan stuck around any longer, Anakin would have regained enough concentration to force throw Obi-wan into the lava. Obi-wan was smart to leave when he did.
In the final scene where Luke sees Obi Wan, Yoda and Anakin as force ghosts, Obi Wan smiles at Anakin, suggesting that he is forgiven. I consider it an important moment in the saga, because the fact that Obi Wan could forgive Anakin is a great show of his character.
Yes he did. After the events of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-wan did not think of Darth Vader as Anakin. Obi-wan could never forget this bond, so to cope with his PTSD he decided to think Darth Vader killed his friend, and he did.
Meanwhile Luke did what anakin could never be. So luke is actually still the most powerful and strongest ever. Lucas stated that Anakin had the potential to be twice as powerful as Palpatine. He also stated that Luke had the same potential and would be what Anakin couldn't because of the injuries from Kenobi.
If Anakin had refused to kill Dooku, Palpatine would know he was not ready. He would simply wait longer and continue to tempt Anakin until he made the decisions Palpatine expected of a potential Sith. Even though Palpatine will falter when this happens, he is still the master of improvisation.
The reason Anakin was so creepy and cringey in episode 2 was actually because George Lucas wanted him to be a realistic representation of a 20-year-old kissless virgin. Hayden Christensen delivered.
If this was a regular movie, then yes, Obi-Wan did use the dark side, and there would have probably been some kind of narrative consequence because of that later on in the trilogy, but because Lucas wrote the character as an unccorruptable beacon of purity, nothing that happens to him ultimately matters because it
However, Anakin was 19 years old when they developed a romantic relationship in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (22 BBY). He later turned to the dark side and became Darth Sidious' apprentice when he was 22 years old in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (19 BBY).
Anakin did not intend to kill Padmé. Anakin believed Obi-Wan had “turned her against him” and began to use the Force to choke Padmé. He stopped before he actually killed her, but Padmé died during childbirth because of a broken heart. She simply lost the will to live.
DBZGTKOSDH Jedi KnightIn RotS, Anakin says that he saved Obi-Wan 10 times, with Obi-Wan saying that the incident in Kato Nemodia doesn't count.
Anakin loved Padme the most, just dreams of losing her sent him in a psychotic break. Palpatine knew that his biggest competition was Obi-Wan which is why he manipulated the situation to get Obi-Wan sent to Utapau. He needed Anakin without his brother in order to turn him.
Even though it's not shown in current canon, Anakin loses his Padawan braid and becomes a Jedi Knight before the 2008 The Clone Wars movie. He still goes on missions and serves with his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he's not a Padawan anymore. This is why Yoda is allowed to give Anakin a Padawan of his own.
Really, Order 66 was a devastating blow to the Jedi, but more to the Order of Jedi itself (as an institution) than to their numbers. The Jedi wouldn't have been all but wiped out, Darth Vader wouldn't have his cybersuit, or even be a Sith, and Palpatine might not even become Emperor.
Originally Answered: What if Obi Wan joined Count Dooku? They would've both been killed by Darth Sidious, while the Jedi are destroyed by the clones. Most things would happen the same way apart from the demise of Dooku in different circumstances.
Anakin could still have a happy ending, just not as a jedi but as a husband and father or something. If Anakin himself had killed Palpatine instead of Windu killing him and Anakin watching, Anakin would've had to reject Palpatine's temptations of power to save Padme through the dark side.
STAR WARS villain Darth Vader was not killed by the Emperor's lightening, it was his return to the Light Side of the Force that ended his life. Fans have always struggled with the devastation that Luke's father dies in the very moment that he is finally restored as Anakin.
