Anika-Lucious Relationship. The Anika-Lucious Relationship is the formerly romantic relationship and engagement between Anika Calhoun and Lucious Lyon. The two began dating prior to Pilot, and the two, as implied, broke up during Unto the Breach.
She is later killed in the season finale by Andre's stepmother Anika (Grace Byers), who pushes her from a 30-floor building. Andre avenges his wife's and unborn child's deaths in the season 4 finale when he spikes Anika's champagne.

Once he recovers, he reveals his diagnosis to his family. Lucious and Cookie have a brief affair, which causes Anika to leave him and go to the company of his detested rival, Billy Berretti (Judd Nelson).
Though it was revealed that Jamal Lyon had moved away for good last season, Hakeem's absence hadn't really been explained on the show. Per TVLine, Empire showrunner Brett Mahoney says that the reasons for Hakeem's absence were hinted at in the Season 6 premiere when he declared he wanted to be an actor.
Empire's profits are all the way up at the moment. Don't tell Lucious and Cookie. But what about Hakeem and Tiana? Hakeem was shot in the chest and had to get part of his lung removed.
It turns Hakeem and Haven only got together to make both of their exes jealous. Tiana tells Hakeem that she's pregnant with his child and he kisses her, telling her that they will figure it out and she was who he wanted all along.

But, in a bait-and-switchy curveball, it was not the individual who entered the episode knocking on death's door (we're looking at you, “terminally ill” Andre). Turns out it is Lucious' other son — newly discovered bastard child Jeff Kingsley — who ends up six feet under.
Hakeem begins dating an R&B singer named Tiana Brown (Serayah McNeill), but has a much older lover named Camilla Marks (Naomi Campbell) whom he sees on the side. Hakeem's oldest brother Andre (Trai Byers) has his wife Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) leak a video of Tiana making out with a female model to the internet.

In the following season, Hakeem and Tiana discovered she was pregnant with twins but lost one of the babies, only giving birth to a son, Prince. After the shooting and the miscarriage, Hakeem began acting out and playing with guns, worrying Tiana, and she ended the relationship for good.

Baby Bella is gone on Empire. Turns out that they weren't, but — plot twist — after Cookie has Angelo kidnapped and beaten by her muscle, Mama Dubois takes baby Bella and plans to make the baby her own because the Lyon family had taken one of hers, or whatever.

During the trial, Diana revealed a recording from a meeting to the judge, who gave custody to Anika. However, Hakeem regained custody in "Slave to Memory" when Anika was exposed for being an accessory to Bella's kidnapping after Angelo was forced to sign a confession by Lucious.
Just introduced this season, Lucious' illegitimate son tried to find his way into the family, but his mother and abandonment issues pushed him too far, eventually killing himself and leaving his heart to go to an ailing Andre (Trai Byers).
