Don't forget to bring the following to the DMV:

In order to obtain an ID card, you must provide one proof of identity, one proof of legal presence, one proof of Social Security number, and two proofs of Virginia residency.

How Do I Get a REAL ID? You can apply in person at a DMV office. You'll need proof of your identity, your California address, and your social security number.
Visit a DMV office, where you will:
- Verify your identity with an acceptable identity document.
- Present acceptable residency documents (if you've never had a California DL/ID card).
- Pay the nonrefundable application fee.
- Have your thumbprint scanned.
- Pass a vision exam.
- Have your photo taken.
- Take the knowledge test(s).

First-time applicants must apply in person, but the locations are often more convenient (generally at a local post office) than DMV offices.
Individuals should go to the nearest police station to report a lost driver's license, as well as a missing passport, non-driver's ID or other official identification. In some states, a police report allows someone to replace a stolen license or ID free of charge.
If you go to Walgreens, Walgreens will provide you with a printed passport photo within 1 hour. You can either go to Walgreens and get a passport photo for $14.99 or you can take a passport photo with Passport Photo Online and then print it out for $0.35!
How to apply

Unfortunately, a temporary ID — like a temporary driver's license — is not considered an acceptable form of ID by TSA.
ShareThis. Soundex is the name given to a system for coding and indexing family names based on the phonetic spelling of the name. The code consists of the first letter of the family name, followed by 3 digits representing the first three phonetic sounds found in the name. Soundex is a phonetic indexing algorithm.
You must make an application in writing and include the following:
- Your full name.
- Your signature.
- Your driver's license or Social Security number.
- Your date of birth.
- An out-of-state address and/or out-of-state fax number.
To perform this PIN Management request, you must provide your Driver's License or ID Card number and Date of Birth. If you are changing your PIN, you must provide your old PIN or last 4 digits of Social Security Number or ITIN.
You can now renew or replace your current Drivers License or Maryland MVA ID card online. Please visit mva.maryland.gov for specific information.
Customers are encouraged to make an appointment on the MDOT MVA website, and after collecting documentation visit a local branch to become REAL ID compliant. The Real ID Core Four are the four documents you'll need to verify who you are and where you live. Don't leave for your MDOT MVA visit without them!
To apply online or at a MVA Kiosk, you will need your Driver's License number, Date of Birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number or your MVA PIN number. The cost for a duplicate license is $20. You should receive your license in the mail to your address on file within 4-6 business days.
The secure technology features applied to the new Maryland driving license and state-issued ID cards mean that documents will be produced and sent from a high-security Motor Vehicle Administration facility - a procedure already in use by state and federal agencies in over 30 US states.
