CHIRP sonar technology, along with built-in GPS, makes it the most advanced, portable and castable fish finder on the market for shore anglers. Create lake maps from the shore or scan the water to locate holding spots and find fish.
I am truly impressed with the Deeper CHIRP. It is durable, stands up to the test at -15F and works great at long distance even when the battery is low. I believe Deeper CHIRP is a big step forward in wireless fishing sonar technology. This unit provides everything an angler needs for a day of fishing and then some.
Depending on your fishing type, the app display shows the bathymetric maps and/or sonar scans. Anticipate any change in circumstances with display header showing time, water depth, temperature, sonar/phone battery levels, boat speed and notifications regarding your sonar connectivity.
When out fishing, select the same sonar mode that you've previously used to map the lake: Settings -> Sonar mode. Afterwards, go back to the main screen of the Deeper app. You will see the map on the left side, and all the bits and pieces of the map will automatically combine if it was made on different days.
Deeper CHIRP+ is the world's first castable, GPS enabled, Wi-Fi fish finder that utilizes CHIRP technology. The three beam frequencies, crisp clarity and extreme accuracy makes it ideal for quickly locating target species holding spots, pinpointing predator fish and fishing in extreme depths.
Ensure the top cover is screwed on tightly, with the Water Proof marks perfectly aligned. To screw the top cover on, turn it anti-clockwise until it dips, then turn it clockwise until it is screwed on tightly. Take an attachment bolt and securely tie it to your fishing line.
The CHIRP+ also narrowly beats the Pro+ when mapping deeper water. The narrowest angle beam (high CHIRP) penetrates to depths of 100m compared to the 80m of the Pro+ although it is the better all-round detail CHIRP provides at all depths that will be of most interest to anglers.
CHIRP stands for “Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse.†That's a fancy way of saying it can show you fish that other forms of 2D sonar can't. By covering a wide range of frequencies, CHIRP produces more accurate, more detailed returns of fish, structure and the bottom.
Sonar sensitivity settings or "auto sensitivity" on Lowrance sonar is very important. The sonar receives the signal from the transducer and the sensitivity control raises or lowers the level we see on the display. Sonar sends sound into the water that bounces off targets (fish or bottom) and returns to the transducer.
STRIKER Cast is a versatile sonar device that anglers can take with them wherever they go. Just cast it out from where the fish are biting that day – the bank, a dock, or even from a kayak – to view fish and structure in crisp detail on the free STRIKER Cast app, compatible with both Apple® and Androidâ„¢ devices.

Now there's an iOS app, FishVerifyâ„¢, to help fishermen instantly identify their catch and learn local fishing regulations related to that specific fish. FishVerify uses the latest in image recognition and artificial intelligence to identify fish species all in one quick motion.
The process of updating firmware is very simple:
- Have the latest version of the FishDeeper App on your phone;
- Connect your Deeper to a charger;
- Go to WiFi connections of your smartphone, and connect to the WiFi hotspot of the Deeper;
- Open the FishDeeper App, which will automatically connect to your Deeper;
To download offline maps, go to Settings, choose Offline maps from the menu and download the maps for your desired location. Afterwards, whenever you use the bathymetric mapping function, the map of the area will load from your phone memory, instead of the internet.
