Many have gone to King's Landing with nothing but the shirts on their back and King's Landing is struggling to feed them, even though it is just after harvest. The foul smell is forshadowing the terrible famine that will come with Winter.
King's Landing is London, and many of the events are heavily inspired by the Rose Wars. The houses mirror Lancaster (Lannister), York (Stark), Plantagenet (Baratheon), Henry VI was Aerys Targaryen. The wall is Hadrian's Wall, and the wildlings are Scots. The Tyrells seem to be French.
"Everyone who was at King's Landing will in inadvertently die due to inhaling asbestos and crystalline silica which causes lung disease or cancer from Daenerys reducing the city to ash and dust," they wrote. "That's right, 85% of the main characters in the show will die a horrible death."
Warning: Major spoilers ahead for HBO's "Game of Thrones" season eight, episode five, "The Bells." The show's penultimate episode saw Daenerys Targaryen and her army attack King's Landing. Thousands of Westerosi people died when Daenerys decided to burn the city, including multiple main characters.
In the Game of Thrones finale, Bran Stark — inarguably the least useful character who managed to survive all eight seasons of the show — became king of Westeros.
Bran Stark Became the King of Westeros in the Game of Thrones Season Eight Finale. Bran is now the King of Westeros. In the final episode of Season Eight of Game of Thrones, the leaders of the Westerosi kingdoms got together and decided to elect Bran the Broken their ruler.
It was then decided that Bran Stark, a.k.a. Bran the Broken, would be the new King of the Six Kingdoms — Sansa insisted that the North still remain an independent kingdom and was subsequently named Queen in the North.

There are nine Great Houses in Westeros. When the show began, they were Stark, Arryn, Baratheon, Tully, Greyjoy, Lannister, Tyrell, Martell and Targaryen.
'Game Of Thrones' Was Inspired By A Bloody, Twisted True Story. A Song of Ice and Fire, along with its TV adaptation, Game of Thrones, is a fantasy series. But, while George R.R. Martin's epic might have all the trappings of a whimsical, violent fantasy world, the actual plot of the series is based in reality.
There is more than one throne in their world and more than one monarch though. The main conflict of the first few seasons is named the “War of the Five Kings” with Joffrey Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon, Renly Baratheon, Balon Greyjoy, and Robb Stark all declaring themselves kings separately.
Back in 2014, Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin revealed that the fictional continent of Westeros is in fact based on an inverted map of Britain and Ireland, with Co. Kerry playing a starring role in the new world in an exact (albeit upside down) reproduction.
The Wall is a colossal fortification which stretches for 100 leagues (300 miles) along the northern border of the Kingdom of the North, separating the realm from the domain of the wildlings who live beyond. The Wall is reported to be over 700 feet tall and is made of solid ice.
Then, several Targaryens later, marriages tied House Martell of Dorne to the Targaryens, and Dorne was roped into the Seven Kingdoms. For whatever reason, they kept the name Seven Kingdoms even though there were now officially eight (probably for religious reasons).
If Dany had never left Essos, the throne fight would have gone on just as it had since Westoros always kept tabs on her but didn't see her as a real threat. Jorah was the spy, so being exiled from Westoros and being in love with Dany, he would have probably stayed in Essos as well.
Located in the western side of the city, this sept was named after King Baelor Targaryen. It was destroyed on the orders of Cersei Lannister, using wildfire following Ser Loras Tyrell's trial, though the explosion also wiped out half the city surrounding the hill for a mile.
Winterfell. The pilot episode of Game of Thrones featuring the Stark family home of Winterfell was shot at Doune Castle in Scotland. However, later episiodes featuring Winterfell were filmed at Castle Ward in Northern Ireland.

They didn't. King's landing is still in ruins. Only a few buildings have been repaired for the Lords and Ladies of Westeros to have a meeting.
The Red Keep – the heart of King's Landing – is, in the real world, Lovijenac Fortress. It is located outside Dubrovnik on a 37m-high rock right on the shore. Fun fact: at the entrance is an ancient inscription which apparently translates as 'Liberty is not sold for all the gold in the world'.
WINTERFELL TO KING'S LANDING is 1,651 miles: So, basically, that means an army should typically take 165 days with no days off, sufficient food supply, no weather problems and no sickness or attacks.
It joined the Seven Kingdoms through peaceful marriage alliance nearly two centuries later, only one century before Robert's Rebellion. As a result of joining through marriage and not conquest, Dorne was allowed to keep many of its local customs and laws, such as equal inheritance laws for male and female heirs.
Dorne is the large peninsula which makes up the southernmost part of Westeros, and is one of the constituent regions of the Seven Kingdoms. The lords of the ruling House Nymeros Martell style themselves "Prince" and "Princess" in the Rhoynish fashion.
Westeros sounds similar to /west of us/. It also sounds like a relaxed pronunciation of west of Essos might sound. Likewise, the name for the continent south of Essos, Sothoroyos, sounds similar to /south of us/ and to /south of essos/.
