Enraged by his threats, Muzan would send multiple Demons to kill Tanjiro such as Yahaba, Susamaru and Enmu throughout the series. As mentioned, it is revealed that Muzan's desire to destroy Tanjiro stemmed from his hatred towards his previous nemesis, Yoriichi Tsugikuni.
The most common and logical reason for Muzan killing Tanjiro's family is revenge. As shown in Chapters 13 and 14 of the manga or Episodes 7 and 8 of the anime, Muzan was visibly agitated when Tanjiro removed his scarf to gag the bystander turned into a demon.
I think it's simply that he hasn't had enough time to become established in the rankings. Also, its clear that he's not quite as powerful as the other pillars quite yet, which will come in time. So just becoming a Rank 1 Demon Hunter isn't enough.

The Strongest Pillar After GyomeiOut of the nine Pillars in the Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series, Giyuu Tomioka is one of the five strongest Pillars, he was in the second place after Gyomei. Giyuu's power is no joke because he is able to kill the strongest demon easily.
Giyuu Tomioka, Water Pillar - currently 21 years old, became a Pillar around 4 or 5 years ago. He was 13 during the final selection exam where Sabito died, and was already a Pillar in Sanemi's flashback.
Giyuu Tomioka maybe is not a type of man who likes to socialize and doesn't have a friend, but as a comrade, other Pillar admit that he's the strongest among them. As water Pillar, Giyuu already mastered Breath of Water. Furthermore, Akaza also said that Giyuu is the most skilled Water Pillar he ever met in 50 years.
Tengen Uzui is a former Demon Slayer, and the former Sound Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps. He retired after losing a hand and an eye against the Upper Moon Six, Gyutaro.
Inosuke is an extremely short-tempered and proud young man who always likes to think he is the strongest fighter in a situation, constantly challenging most people he comes across and wanting others to respect and praise him for his skill.
As far as I know Tanjiro doesn't have any special powers that makes him see dead people. Tanjiro is one of the disciplines of Urokodaki and so were Sabito and Makomo along with many other children. During the final selection, some died.
Tanjiro is sent flying away due to the demon's strength and shouts for Inosuke to not die at all costs. Inosuke manages to cut the demon's arm, making him climb up to trees to shed his skin and show an even larger spider-like body. Inosuke tries his best, but his blades break and he was strangled by the demon.
We thought that Inosuke was a girl, but he had a woman's face on her muscles, which was really jealous. For the face of Inosuke, Tanjiro also gave a fair evaluation. It is small, fair, and looks good. Inosuke didn't want others to despise him because of his face, so he had a boar hood.
After living his life in the mountains, Inosuke developed some beast-like qualities, probably he thinks that chipping his baldes with stone will make them cut demon heads easily. The sword used by every demon slayer is a special blade called Nichirin blade.
The series main character, Tanjiro Kamado, wields a black Nichirin Blade, but the symbolism of the black blade is unknown. The reason for this is because black blades are seen as a rarity, as demon slayers who wield them don't have a tendency to live long, let alone becoming a Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps.
Demon Slayer Mark: Tanjiro awakens his mark for the first time while fighting Upper Rank 6, Gyutaro, and once again against the split forms of Hantengu, the Upper Rank 4.
Tanjiro's scar changes as he journeys as a Demon Hunter, but it was initially from a burn he received as a result of having saved one of his siblings from toppling a lamp over and burning himself on the forehead instead.
Was Tanjiro's Father A Demon Slayer? Well to answer the question in short, Tanjiro's father is not a demon slayer. The person Muzan sees in his flashbacks is not Tanjurou. But his connections to the demon slayer world is how he leart the dance of the fire god technique.
