Mark calls as spam
- Open your device's Phone app .
- Go to Recent calls .
- Tap the call you want to report as spam.
- Tap Block / report spam. You'll be asked if you want to block the number.
- If you have the option, tap Report call as spam.
- Tap Block.
Several third-party apps—Nomorobo, Hiya: Spam Phone Call Blocker, RoboKiller, Truecaller, and YouMail Voicemail & Spam Block—also strive to block telemarketing calls.
Blocked numbers are still coming through. There is a reason why for this, at least I believe this is the reason why. Spammers, use a spoof app that hides their actual number from your caller i.d. so when they call you and you block the number, your blocking a number that doesn't exist.
Based on my knowledge (because it already had happened to me), if you don't have voicemail, you will still be able to see if a blocked number is contacting you because it will still appear in your recent calls. That's because whenever a blocked person calls you, your phone will still ring but only once.
If you have a smartphone Android, for know if a blocked number called you, you can use the call and SMS blocking tool, as long as it is present on your device. After that, press the card call, where you can see the history of calls received but blocked by phone numbers that you previously added to the blacklist.
On Android Lollipop, go to the Phone app and select Call Settings > Call Rejection (ouch) > Auto Reject List. Type in the number or search for it, select it, and you're done. For Marshmallow or Nougat, open Dialer, go to your recent calls list, find the number you want to block and select Block/Report Spam.

In order for your iPhone to block the number, it must have the phone number attached to the contact. Please go back to the contact, tap Edit, and re-add the phone number, which should correct this. When you block a phone number or contact, they can still leave a voicemail, but you won't get a notification.
Here is how:
- Launch the Phone app.
- Tap Contacts.
- tap the + button.
- As phone number, enter 000-000-0000.
- Tap Done.
- Now scroll down and tap Block this caller. A popup will appear saying “you will not receive phone calls, messages or FaceTime from people on the block list” then tap Block Contact.
There are few things to check before you can make sure numbers are automatically blocking on your device. Go to Settings > Phone > Call Blocking and Identification and check if you find the same number which you think is blocked? Also at the top you'll see apps that have access to call blocking.
So, how to block a range of numbers using Call Protect? Launch the app > Go to Block tab > Tap on Block a Number button > Select Block a Range of Numbers option > Enter the starting and ending numbers of the range.
How to unblock numbers
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Phone.
- Scroll down to Blocked Contacts (Call Blocking & Identification in older iOS version). Tap on it.
- Tap on Edit.
- Tap the red circle next to the blocked number you want to unblock.
- A red Unblock button will appear. Tap that.
Exceptions: This is the really useful part. Here, you can choose to allow calls or messages (or both) from your “starred” contacts, even when Do Not Disturb is on. This allows you to block most notifications but allow those from your spouse, mother or other important people.
