This isn't always the case, but if it's an option to you it's a great way to avoid the ridiculous service charges that come when you order tickets online.Facility fees are charged on all tickets, regardless of the sales channel. I've promoted thousands of shows over the past 10 years, with about 90% of them having been in Ticketmaster venues. One thing has been consistent: there are no service charges ("convenience fees") on tickets sold at the venue box office.

Re: using stubhub safe for broadway tickets? StubHub is widely used and they guarantee the tickets. There are very few shows where using StubHub would be worth it: unless a show is totally sold out, you can generally do better with the official seller. So StubHub wouldn't be my first stop, but yes, they are legit.
