Hintze Hall is the gateway to the Museum's collections and galleries. Inside it, you can wander among meteorites, mammals, fish, birds, minerals, plants and insects, and hear stories about the people whose work and ideas have shaped the Museum.

The film was mostly filmed in Vancouver and Montreal with some scenes filmed in the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. A scene was shot at the Lincoln Memorial on the night of May 21, 2008. Scenes were also shot at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on August 18 and 20, 2008.

Smaller backpacks and bags are permitted, at the discretion of the museum's security officers, if they are hand-carried. Backpacks may not be worn on the back, but must be carried on the side, under the arm, or on the front of the body. These limitations help us protect the artworks from accidental damage.
In addition to the contracted event spaces, you are welcome to add on galleries in one-hour increments for your guests to enjoy. Please note, in order to protect our collections, that we do not allow food, drink, or setup outside of our event spaces.
We are open! Entry to the Museum remains free, but since we closed our doors we've been losing vital income. Donations will help us to continue welcoming visitors and connecting people to nature through inspiring stories and educational activities.
