Place the stain face down on clean paper towels. Sponge rubbing alcohol into the area around the stain, and then apply it directly to the stain. Continue sponging the stain with alcohol, transferring as much ink as possible to the paper towels, and replacing the towels as needed. Rinse thoroughly and launder.

Dip a cloth or sponge in rubbing alcohol and dab first around the stain, then directly on it. You should see the ink transfer to the paper towel underneath the stain. Change the paper towel often so that the paper can absorb the color. After the stain is removed, wash the clothing as directed in the washing machine.

Though Sharpie ink will become mostly permanent after setting, it can be erased. A dry erase marker is usually successful in removing sharpie ink by covering the sharpie ink using three to four pen strokes. There are no warning labels on Sharpie markers.
Colouring in the bleach stainYou can also use regular Sharpies (available in a wide range of colours) but need to “fix” the pen colouring on to the fabric (ironing on low, or tumble drying on low will usually do this).

If you plan on lots of use and laundering, fabric markers generally give better results. Also remember fabric markers are meant for fabric so they will glide easier over fabric whereas Sharpies will sometimes jump or skip across the fabric causing breaks in any continuous strokes.

Acetone and nail polish removers containing acetone can strip away most paints and dyes, and the dye in Sharpies is usually weak against it. Cover the bottle of nail polish remover or acetone with a clean cloth. Rub the portion of your cloth soaked in nail polish remover on the stain.
