What are Two-Stage Triggers? Two-stage triggers have an operating process that involves two distinct phases of firing. The advantage of this style of design is that it allows the user to know exactly when the firing will take place. They know that once they set the trigger after the first phase, the gun will fire.

A single-stage trigger is static and has no take-up or slack. When you press the trigger, there is only the break and the rifle will fire. Most single-stage triggers have lighter pull weights by comparison to their two-stage brethren.

Flat triggers offer a greater surface area for engagement as well as a longer reach. On the other hand, a curved trigger presents a more comfortable distribution of pressure, which some shooters prefer.
The instances in which dry firing can cause damage is for rimfire firearms and for older guns in which the firing pin goes too far forward without ammo to strike against. The issue of the firing pin causing damage if it doesn't have ammo to strike is the big reason you've been told dry firing is bad.
A good trigger should not have any roughness or hesitation in its stroke, regardless of pull weight. Letoff: when the sear releases, it should do so predictably and without abruptness.
When firing fast, a two stage trigger will work and feel just like an okay (milspec) single stage trigger. But if you want to take a more precise shot, all you need to do is slow down for a second and go back to “prepping” the trigger (by taking up the slack) before you fire.

Your AR15 trigger needs to be 100% reliable and consistent if you want to shoot accurately. In fact, if you're trying to improve the accuracy of your rifle, a trigger upgrade is the best place to start. A good trigger doesn't have to be pulled back a long way before it “breaks” and fires a shot.

A hellfire trigger is a spring-loaded pedal placed behind a gun's trigger. When the trigger is pulled, the spring quickly pushes it back to firing position, enabling rapid fire.
The binary trigger is a fun trigger to shoot. It works well. You can use it like a normal trigger, and when you don't want to shoot the second round, move the safety to safe and let off the trigger.
Really nice trigger. Clean and simple to drop-in, very well made, and performs as promised. If you don't want to pay close to $200 for a trigger but still want a drop-in trigger then this is a perfect option for you.
Until such time, assume bump-stocks will be illegal soon. As of this update, binary triggers are NOT a part of the new ruling banning bump-stocks on the Federal level–but binary triggers remain illegal in some states due to state-level law.
Technically: Part of the Pre-Travel phase, and in contrast to Take-Up, Trigger Creep is any positive movement of the trigger that does cause the sear to move and does engage the mainspring. Trigger Stacking can refer to anything that increases the resistance of the trigger the farther back you pull.
A drop-in trigger unit means that all of the fire control group internals — trigger shoe (the part you put your finger on), sear (if not part of the trigger shoe, which it typically is on an AR), hammer, disconnector, springs, etc. — are contained in their own housing (or “cassette”) and are ready to use.
Pull the trigger = weapon will fire, don't pull the trigger = weapon is will not fire. The inset "trigger" is to prevent the trigger from cycling if you snag it on clothing, holster, etc; When was the last time you saw a manual safety on a production revolver?
Glock triggers are single stage. It's just that the trigger pull weight changes throughout the pull (and that most people would say it has about 2" of trigger creep).
A mil-spec AR-15 trigger is supposed to be in the 4.5 – 5.5 lb range. My stock Colt 6920 measured 5 lbs 4 oz at the tip, and 8 lbs 6 oz in the center of the trigger – over a three lb difference.
The SAKO single-set trigger works by pushing the trigger forward to set after the rifle is cocked. This function greatly reduces the pull weight when one then presses the trigger to the rear to fire the rifle. In “unset” mode, the trigger works normally, and like many SAKO and Tikka triggers is adjustable from 2-4lbs.
With single-stage models, the spinning auger cuts into the snow gathers it up and blows it out of the discharge chute. But with two-stage gas snow blowers, the auger that sucks up the snow does not contact the clearing surface, meaning you can do your snow blowing even on crushed stone or gravel driveways.

What they are describing is a semiautomatic-only trigger assembly that is not in the military's system. There are several different makes and designs of these basic triggers, so it is unfair to generally describe a heavy or gritty trigger as simply being Mil-Spec.
