To figure the gas mileage, you would need to determine how many miles you traveled on 1 gallon of gas. You would need to divide 1000 miles by 50 gallons of gas. That would equal 20; therefore, you traveled 20 miles for every 1 gallon of gas.

Over the past 2½ years diesel prices in the States are on average 54% lower than they are in the UK and petrol prices are on average 43% lower in the US. The reason it is so much cheaper to fill up in the States is they pay less than a ¼ of the tax we pay on our fuel.
The country with the most expensive gasoline in the world is Zimbabwe, where a gallon of gas costs $12.64, more than 50% higher than the next highest priced place. The Zimbabwean dollar is virtually worthless and the U.S. dollar has been legal currency in the country since 2009.
As of Saturday, the national average price for gas is $2.15, which is 44 cents cheaper than the average a year ago, according to AAA. Gas prices plummeted in recent weeks because of oil price feuds between Saudi Arabia and Russia, and looming recession fears sparked by the coronavirus pandemic.

Petrol' is a shortened term for 'Petroleum Distillate' which is what it is. Gas is a shortened version of 'Gasoline' was a trade name for Petroleum Distillate used in the US. Diesel is the fuel used in Diesel engines which were invented by Rudolf Diesel so unsurprisingly it is called diesel in germany!

In Venezuela, gasoline is cheaper than water. Literally. Gas is heavily subsidized there – and hyperinflation has made the currency, the bolívar, worthless. So in dollar terms a bottle of water costs more in Venezuela than a tank of gas.
