Thankfully, Amazon offers the ability to associate Alexa, the Echo's voice assistant, with multiple user accounts. One big benefit to using multiple accounts on your Echo is getting access to the content, like music and audiobooks, owned by all of its users.
Echo vs. Dot: Sound. It makes sense that the larger the speaker, the better the sound. The Echo has two Dolby-powered speakers (a 2.5″ woofer for low frequencies and a 0.6″ tweeter for the highs) for room-filling, 360-degree sound; the Dot only has a single 1.6″ speaker.
Although adding multiple devices to your Alexa app is seamless, you can't combine two Echo devices to create a stereo effect or surround sound audio setup like you can with Sonos speakers. Now, if you have multiple Alexa devices in hearing range, only the one that hears you best will respond.
Don't just plop your Amazon Echo anywhere in your home. You and your Alexa assistant will thank you. Keep your Amazon Echo in a safe place. Placing your Alexa device in certain areas of your house could risk your privacy, security or even damage your Echo.
Easily one of the best uses for an Alexa speaker in the bathroom is its music abilities. Not only will you be able to listen to your favorite songs to sing along with while you shower, you can also turn your bathroom into a mini spa when you need to unwind after a long day.
The main difference between the echo and Echo Dot is the speaker: The Echo Dot is essentially the top portion of the regular Amazon Echo, without the beefy speaker underneath it. Instead, The Echo Dot is designed to be hooked up to a set of external speakers.
