You probably recognize the Japanese word atari, particularly if you grew up playing on the popular gaming system of the same name. But the word actually means "neighborhood", or "in the same vicinity as", or "the surroundings".
Who owns Sega now?
Sega Sammy Holdings
SEGA Holdings
The name came from the ancient Chinese board game Go, of which Bushnell was a fan. He essentially chose company's name from amongst its strange jargon. In that context, Atari means something closer to “I'm about to win” - like “check” in chess. Other name candidates, reportedly, were Sente and Hane.
How old is Nintendo?
131 years (September 23, 1889)
There are many places to sell your old Atari. Probably one of the best places for you to sell it is online locally. Many people use Facebook Marketplace or local Facebook groups that allow people to post items for sale. Other people have taken it to pawn shops, or sold it online using Ebay.
By 1982 the 2600 console cost Atari about $40 to make and sold for an average of $125. The company spent $4.50 to $6 to manufacture its cartridges, plus $1 to $2 for advertising, and sold them for $18.95 wholesale.

Atari VCS (codename Ataribox) is a home video game console and Microconsole produced by Atari SA. After several delays, the console was expected to ship in March 2020, but was delayed again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later announced that the console will be released on November 27.
When was the first Nintendo made?
September 23, 1889, Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan
In 1987, Atari Corporation released the XE Game System console, which was essentially a repackaged 65XE (the then-current iteration of the 8-bit computer line) with a detachable keyboard that could run home computer titles directly, unlike the 5200.
The generation began in November 1976 with the release of the Fairchild Channel F. This was followed by the Atari 2600 in 1977, Magnavox Odyssey² in 1978, Intellivision in 1980 and then the Emerson Arcadia 2001, ColecoVision, Atari 5200, and Vectrex, all in 1982.
The Wii U was likely a failure because of a confluence of issues. When the Wii U launched in 2012, Nintendo had become convinced that anything bearing the Wii's name would sell. But because the Wii was at the end of its lifecycle, people looked at the Wii U as a rehash and didn't buy it.

The first true 64-bit game console was the Atari Jaguar. Although many people have deemed the Jaguar a 32, 16, or 16/32/64-bit console, the fact is that as a complete system the Jaguar is 64-bits. There is no point in a 64 bit address space in a games console!
The Atari Jaguar is known for how hard it failed. Part of the reason I found it so appealing is because the system was pushed as an extreme system, for extreme gamers. It was pushed as the ONLY 64-Bit gaming system. And it was pushed hard.
The Jaguar was Atari's last hardware system and by most people's estimation it only had two good games. The games that are worth owning on it you can either get ports of on other systems (Rayman, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom), and the good exclusives really aren't killer apps that's worth the price of the system.
In the end, the Virtual Boy was Nintendo's biggest failure up to that time. It's a disaster that could probably best be chalked up to lack of effort. They simply didn't care. Few VB games offered first person perspective, and the ones that did never really replicated the full virtual reality experience.
