Kybella and CoolSculpting each have their own set of benefits and drawbacks. Kybella can treat small areas of fat, does not require a capital investment, and can be done in a small exam room. CoolSculpting, by contrast, can debulk bigger necks, treat lateral areas, and involves less downtime than Kybella.
Each Kybella treatment costs between $1,200 to $1,800 on average. Your total cost is affected by the number of treatments needed, your healthcare provider's fees, as well as your geographic location.
Kybella is the first non-surgical method to decrease jawline, chin and neck fullness. Kybella is an injection that destroys fat cells and increases collagen production, reducing fat around the jowl area. Most facial injections and dermal fillers are used to add volume back into the face, not remove it.
Apply (over the counter) Arnica gel to the treatment area to help decrease the bruising, swelling, and discomfort. Take (over the counter) acetaminophen and/or pain reliever if needed to decrease post treatment discomfort. Sleep on your back and with head elevated for the next 3-5 days after treatment.
“Everyone needs two to six treatments, and we are big advocates of 'treat to complete,'” says Levy. For each treatment, the injector uses between one and three vials of Kybella, depending on how much submental fat one has.
Answer: Kybella is indicated for double chin or submental fat under the chin. Kybella works by permanently causing a chemical reaction that destroys fat cells. Yes, the results of Kybella are permanent. The key to successful fat removal with Kybella is proper candidate selection.
Based on your individual aesthetic goals and a customized treatment plan, after just two to six Kybella treatments, you'll notice a visible reduction in that troublesome turkey neck. When fat cells under your chin are destroyed, your body can't use them for fat storage.
There are several options for treating sagging jowls or reducing how saggy or droopy they appear. Surgical procedures, such as neck lifts, can tighten your skin and make it look less saggy. Nonsurgical procedures, such as thermage, lasers, and peels, can change the composition of the collagen in your skin.

Liposuction removes fat by sucking the fat cells out. Kybella—or deoxycholic acid—directly destroys fat cells. Neither the liposuction or Kybella itself achieves the improved neck profile you want. If your skin is too lose, than a neck lift is a better option.
The Lipodissolve solution contains 4x deoxycholic acid than KYBELLA® and has been used for over two decades in France and Italy for spot fat reduction of stubborn fat in various areas of the body.
The bruising and swelling tends to last one to three days but can go on for a few weeks before it is completely back to normal. An over-the-counter anti-inflammatory can help. It's rare, but some patients experience numbness in the area and sometimes firmness where the injections were administered.
The best way to get rid of neck fat is to drop excess weight. Typically, decreasing your daily calorie intake by about 500 calories will result in about 0.5kg of weight loss per week.
Ultherapy works best on jowls, chin and lower face that show the signs of mild to moderate laxity. Ultherapy is a simple and effective 60-90 minute procedure. Safe, time-tested ultrasound bypasses the surface of the skin. Stimulates collagen and elastin remodeling below the skin.
After successfully performing Kybella and Ultherapy separately, Dr. Doyle has found that when performed together, the two treatments can garner even better results for her East Greenwich patients.
POST-- TREATMENT:Swelling, bruising, redness and inflamma+on is to be expected 3--7 days after Kybella treatments. Tylenol can be consumed as directed for added comfort. Avoid salty foods as this can increase swelling to the areas even more than what is to be expected. NO exercise for 48 hours post treatment!
It is recommended to wear a chin strap with an ice pack for a few nights after treatment and elevate head to reduce swelling. Patients can experience numbness, redness, nodules, bruising and firmness at injection sites after treatment, which usually resolves over 4-5 weeks.
Results from Kybella injections are typically gradual. Targeted fat cells are usually removed from the area within four to six weeks after receiving injections, at which point patients start to see a noticeable difference to the appearance of their profile.
Don't massage the treatment area after you receive Kybella. Touching the treatment area can lead to more swelling in some patients. It's best to leave the area alone to ensure a speedy recovery. Take Arnica and Bromelain tablets before your treatment and several days after.
