In general, there are some slight differences when it comes to sound quality for the different headphones. The Beats usually have an enhanced bass, and are often louder than the Bose. The Bose headphones, however, will usually have a built-in equalizer that will make music sound smoother.
All that said, sound quality from the Bose SoundSport Free is excellent. The included charging case is a bit bulker than we'd like, but gives the SoundSport Free a combined battery life of about 15 hours. The earbuds themselves last about 4 to 5 hours in our testing, which is quite good compared to competitors.

That is correct. The headset cannot be powered on while its plugged in to the charger. The battery is also a non removable lithium ion. An audio cable is provided so you can still enjoy your music if the battery is depleted or charging.
The USB Cable Connection
You can also charge your headset without a charger if you have a cable with a USB head on both ends. Your headset will need to have a USB port for this to work.
