The three Lost Sectors on Io are: Sanctum of Bones location. Aphix Conduit location. Grove of Ulan-Tan location.
The Sanctum of Bones is nicely positioned right next to The Rupture landing zone in Io, meaning it's actually pretty easy to get to. Once you spawn, it's a case of heading straight on towards the map marker and you'll come across the Lost Sector marker on a distinctive grey stone mound.
Head to Io, to the Lost Oasis area. Activate the Taken Blight Public Event. Ignore all the objectives for the Public Event as soon as it begins. Head to the northwestern corner of the Lost Oasis area, near the Lost Sector.
Select the EDZ, and go to the Sunken Isles spawn point. The Volundr Forge is directly southeast of the Sunken Isles spawn point, where you'll find a cave called Smidur's Cavern. From here, all you have to do is follow your quest marker and you'll be taken directly to the Forge.
Blight is a clear indicator that Taken enemies are either nearby or about to be summoned. When this happens, the Blight will take its mist form. When the Taken appear, Blight may appear in its sphere form along with them, or the spheres will be around when a player enters the area.
Forge the weapon
For the final part of this quest, hop into the daily forge found on the EDZ and ignite the Forge. Make sure you complete the two waves and kill the boss at the end. Once you do this, Blast Furnace will drop you for at the end.- Head to Nessus and go to the Landing Zone near the Cistern.
- A new quest, Rekindling the Flames Refurbished Izanami Igniter will appear near the Landing Zone.
- Complete this quest to obtain the Radiolarian Vapor and advance the Forge Quest.
To unlock the Izanami Forge quest you will need to get the Vex Transporter from a fallen Vex on Nessus. This is only obtainable by killing Vex on this planet, so head to Nessus and start bringing down these mechanized monsters.
You have to unlock the Gofannon forge before you can unlock the Izanami forge. You'll need to kill fallen enemies until a quest item drops to start the Gofannon quest.
However, one Guardian has proven that with a little skill and luck, it's possible to solo. Taking on the Volundr Forge in Destiny 2's European Dead Zone, Esoterickk posted a video showing off how it's possible to completely solo the experience.
Shooting both drones in the Gofannon Forge at the start of Round 2 will give you Maximum Temper, which spawns a crate at the end of the round (you don't need to kill the boss, just make it to Round 3.) Opening this crate will reward you with a Black Armory Key used to unlock the Hand Lock.
Go up to the chest and open it for the Fishhook key. To open the mysterious box's Fishhook lock, inspect the key and hold the action button to “use” it. Then when looking back at the Fishhook lock, its checkbox should not be filled in.
Time to do another mission. It's called Lock and Key and it's in the EDZ. Polish it off and you'll receive a strange item called Not a Weapon (it is not a weapon). Head back to the Tower, talk to Ada-1, and you'll receive the Exotic sniper rifle Izanagi's Burden.
