(CNN) Nick Jonas appears to be a sucker for a swiveling chair. NBC has announced that singer and actor will be returning as a coach to "The Voice" in Season 20, set to join John Legend, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson on the show. He will replace Gwen Stefani, who is a coach on the current season.
“I've read many many times that I've been fired,” Shelton jokes. “I don't plan on going anywhere,” he continues. “I'd like to stay there as long as I can. Yes, I'm staying there, of course, I'm staying there.
As for why Nick Jonas is leaving The Voice, it may be down to who is coming back rather than why he himself wanted to leave. The former No Doubt singer, whose partner is Voice judge Blake Shelton, sat out Season 18 due to her signing up to a Las Vegas residency.
