Step 1: Right-click on the file type that you would always want to open in Windows Media Player, click Open with, click Choose default program, and then select Windows Media Player to set it as default for the selected file type.

How to Create a Playlist in Windows Media Player
- Choose Start→All Programs→Windows Media Player.
- Click the Library tab and then click Create Playlist at the left under the Playlists item.
- Enter a playlist title there and then click outside it.
- Click a library in the left pane of the Media Library, and the library contents appear.
Crossfading is a technique that creates a smooth transition from one sound to another. It's often used in audio engineering to fill in the silence between two tracks, or even blend multiple sounds in the same song to create smooth changes rather than abrupt ones.
The crossfade duration is the amount of time (in seconds) that two consecutive tracks will overlap. The duration can range from 0 seconds to 20 seconds.
The crossfade, aka smoking weed and drinking at the same time, is a practice that can be great or terrible, depending on your tolerance and experience levels with both. Notorious for taking down seasoned partiers, crossfading has a heavy reputation, especially among people who are newer to cannabis.
Gapless Playback means your tracks will flow into the next song without pause (with the exception of Spotify ads, of course). This will now be on by default — so if you miss the gap, head over to Preferences and turn it off. Crossfade is fairly similar: it fades one track into the next.

To mix explicitly, select all the tracks you want to mix together then choose either Tracks > Mix > Mix and Render or Tracks > Mix > Mix and Render to New Track (shortcut Ctrl + Shift + M).
The YouTube Music application currently does not offer the Crossfade function. I recommend you to send feedback directly to the YouTube Music team by going to your profile photo and selecting Send Feedback.
In the Music app on your Mac, choose Music > Preferences, then click Playback. Select Crossfade Songs. To change the amount of time it takes for the current song to fade out at the end and the new song to fade in, drag the Seconds slider.
Applying (or Deleting) Fades
Select part of region(s) to fade or crossfade, using the Selector tool. Then go to Edit> Fades> Create Fades… (or Delete Fades). The shortcut to create fades (after you've selected the area) is Command-F.Windows Media Player is available for Windows-based devices. Windows Media Player 12 is the most recent version of Windows Media Player. It was released on October 22, 2009 along with Windows 7 and has not been made available for previous versions of Windows nor has it been updated since for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
Windows 10 won't play DVDs natively, and Windows Media Center is gone. Here are your options. You can play a DVD in Windows 10 for free with a little help. But that help's probably best if it doesn't come from Microsoft.
If you want to reinstall Windows Media Player, try the following:
- Click the Start button, type features, and select Turn Windows features on or off.
- Scroll down and expand Media Features, clear the Windows Media Player check box, and click OK.
- Restart your device.
- Repeat step 1.

To play a CD or DVD
Insert the disc you want to play into the drive. Typically, the disc will start playing automatically. First, download and install the software from the VideoLAN VLC Media Player website. Launch VLC Media Player from its Start menu shortcut. Insert a DVD, and it should rev up automatically.
