Mercedes-Benz recently announced that its new E-Class will support Qi wireless charging through a Qi transmitter that will be installed on the center console's front part.
The Qi wireless charging coil uses inductive coupling, but aligns the transmitter and receiver coils to maximize the amount of energy they can transfer from a power source to a device's battery. "So, indeed, once those chips are ready, it will be simple for mobile phone OEMs to integrate Qi and NFC."
