In the Settings app , you can search for iPhone settings you want to change, such as your passcode, notification sounds, and more. Tap Settings on the Home Screen (or in the App Library). Swipe down to reveal the search field, enter a term—“iCloud,” for example—then tap a setting.
Change the map view
- Tap. in the top-right corner of the map.
- Under Map View, select Default, Hybrid, or Satellite.

As far as I know, Apple Maps app can save a specific route offline automatically when you calculate it. There's no way to manually download areas or cities. I highly recommend maps.me app for traveling. They do offer offline mode and they have all the paths which Apple Maps or Google Maps sometime do not have.

It can be a street address, city, a person's name if their address is in your iPhone Contacts app, or a business, such as a movie theater or restaurant. Tap a location under Favorites to get directions to a frequently accessed location.

If you have location services enabled, your iPhone will keep track of places you have been, when you were there and how often you've been there. Go to Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services. Scroll all the way down and go to "System Services." Go to "Significant Locations" at the bottom.
