The Best Way to Pay Rent: Personal Check, Cashier's Check or Money Order. Whether you choose to pay by personal or cashier's check or money order, the most important thing is that you pay timely. It is possible to use one or a combination of these methods to pay your rent obligations.
With Zelle pay, you can send and collect rent payments instantly through your banking app, or the Zelle app if your bank doesn't support Zelle Pay yet. The transfers are free and only require you to know a US mobile number or email address (as long as the other person already has Zelle).
The first listing you activate with Zillow Rental Manager is free until it expires (see “Which listings require payment?”). Starting with your second listing, it costs $9.99 per week that your property is actively listed for rent.
Sending your monthly rent payment through PayPal certainly seems like an enticing option. You can attach a credit card, debit card, or link your bank account to the app to transfer funds to your landlord. Once your account is set up, you can make payments in just a couple of clicks.
RECEIPT FOR PAYMENT ---(1) A landlord shall provide free of charge to a tenant or former tenant, on request, a receipt for the payment of any rent, rent deposit, arrears of rent or any other amount paid to the landlord.
A landlord should give a tenant a receipt for the security deposit and any other payments that are received from the tenant. However, the RTA does not require the landlord to provide receipts. A refundable fee or charge is part of the security deposit. Some residential tenancy agreements include a “late rent charge”.

All you do is set up a recurring monthly payment schedule for the exact amount to be transferred from your bank account to the one your landlord specifies.
Landlords or agents must keep a record of the rent received for each tenancy. A tenant can ask for a copy of their rent record at any time, and landlords or agents must give this to the tenant within 7 days of the tenant's written request. It's a good idea for tenants to keep receipts or records of rent payments.
Set Up Rental Payment RemindersThe most polite way to ask for payment is to ask before anyone is late! When you send a reminder a few days before the rent is due, you can be very polite. Sending a reminder about an upcoming payment rather than a request for a late payment is always going to be a more welcome message.
7 Tips for Collecting Rent and Getting Paid on Time

Paying rent in cash can be risky for both landlords and tenants. In general, tenants are better served by other methods such as checks or online bank payments. If you do pay the rent in cash, make sure you get a receipt so you have a paper trail proving you paid the rent.
Almost certainly tax evasion. You won't be doing anything illegal though. I don't think there's any concern as long as the landlord provides you a proper invoice and subsequent payment receipt. The reason for requesting cash is almost certainly to avoid tax.
A landlord cannot evict a tenant without an adequately obtained eviction notice and sufficient time. A landlord cannot retaliate against a tenant for a complaint. A landlord cannot forego completing necessary repairs or force a tenant to do their own repairs. A landlord cannot ask invasive or unnecessary questions.
Generally, a landlord has the right to choose a certain form or forms of payment that they will accept. A landlord can change the way in which rent is paid, just as they can change other terms in a lease or rental agreement.

Know that as a third party, they can't do anything with your bank account number unless given permission by a court ruling. Keep in mind that this number is also listed at the bottom of any personal checks you may use to make payments.
If the “landlord” in this case is a property manager, they could be skimming and under-reporting the income to the landlord. “Embezzlement” wouldn't be a word nor a crime if it never happened. Some people request cash to hide income in order to avoid income tax.

Rental payments can now be reported to the three credit reporting agencies, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, and the newest credit scoring models use rental-payment data when calculating your credit score.
So once you opt-in and agree to add utility payments to your Experian credit report, they will be included in credit scores based on your Experian credit file. Remember, though, that the tool does not affect your credit files with Equifax and TransUnion.
You can request your tenant history report (and any other credit or specialty reports) at any time—you're entitled to one free copy of any report once every 12 months.
You can't report rental payments to credit bureaus yourself, but all three of the major bureaus will accept your rental payment data from a third-party servicer.
In some cases, paying your rent on time may help you build credit. Each of the three major credit reporting agencies—Equifax, Experian and TransUnion—will include positive rent payment history on credit reports if they receive it. You can always ask your landlord or property manager to report your rent payment.
You might think every time you pay utility bills on-time, it helps build your credit. But many bills—including rent and utilities—are not routinely reported to credit bureaus like credit card and loan payments. Unfortunately, making timely rent and utility payments will not help build credit.
Contact your landlord or property management company.Ask if they are willing and able to report your rental payment history directly to Experian RentBureau. If they agree, your lease will appear in the "accounts" section of your Experian report as one of your tradelines.
