Volvo Flip-Key Repair
- Tools you'll need:
- Step 1: Separate the flip-key head from the body.
- Step 2: Saw through flip-key head to separate into halves.
- Step 3: Remove transponder chip and key blade.
- Step 4: Transfer transponder chip and key blade to replacement flip-key head.
- Step 5: Pre-load the spring and close the flip-key head halves.
It turns on the interior lights and headlights. Handy for finding your car in a packed car park. The dealer can set them on pre-2007 cars. 30/60/90 seconds.
Locate the key fob you want to delete, and then hit the check box on the left to select it. Then hit the "Delete" button at the bottom of the screen.
To manually program this remote, ensure that all doors, hood, and trunk are closed. Insert key into ignition, turn key to position #2 and back to off at least 5 times in ten seconds. The LED indicator should start to flash, leave ignition on. Once indicator starts you have 15 seconds to program remote.

AutoZone also sells transponder as well as remote key fobs that range in price from $15 to $90. Many of the key fobs for sale at your local AutoZone stores can be programmed by utilizing an On-Board Programming system; however, the availability of the program depends on the particular automaker.
With the VIN number and proof of ownership of the vehicle, an automotive locksmith can cut a key for your car. He does this by accessing the key code. Without the original key, the key code is used to cut the key. Newer model vehicles also require a computer chip, or “transponder” to be present in the key itself.
Basically, with keyless starts, your key emits a code that can be picked up by the car. That code is also pretty easily picked up by scanning devices, which can then replicate the code and direct it back to the car. And, voila: a potential thief now has entry to your vehicle.

Essentially, this is a tiny, keychain-sized fob that you can attach to your key fob (or car keys, or wallet, or phone, or anything that's prone to disappearing!) Depending on the brand you choose, your key tracker may: Emit a sound to help you find it.
Push-Button Start
- Get into your vehicle's driver seat with the key fob in your hand. Make sure all doors are closed.
- Press and release the start button 15 times in quick 1-2 second intervals.
- Immediately after completing the 15 presses, push and release the lock button on your key fob.
Nissan Intelligent Key Programming Instructions
- The first step to Nissan Intelligent Key programming to get in the car with the Key, then lock the doors.
- Insert the key into the ignition, but don't start the car, then remove the key.
- Now you're in program mode.
- Immediately press any button on the Nissan Intelligent Key.

Everything relating to getting a new Volvo key can be handled exclusively by the United Locksmith. There is only one person that you need to call, and that is the locksmith. They will find out what you need, get you the replacement parts, handle any car key cutting and/or programming.
The "valet key" is used to lock the glove box which automatically prevents the trunk from unlocking with the fob or the interior button. I leave the fob with the valet who can drive the car and take the little metal key thing with me.

Volvo On Call provides remote unlocking services for lost and damaged key fobs. Manually unlock the door: If your fob is outside of the vehicle at the time of its failure, you can try to unlock it manually. Hold the dead fob against the driver's side of the car. Press it against the handle while pulling.
The engine immobilizer is an anti-theft system built in the engine ECU. It prevents the engine from starting without using vehicle's authorized key. This system uses a special digitally coded key or a Smart Key fob. It stores the electronic security code or simply the vehicle's password.
Procedure
- Remove the emergency key from the keyfob.
- Insert the metal key at the bottom of the door handle on the driver's door and remove the plastic cover.
- Insert the key in the keyhole and turn it.
- Unlock the driver's door and get inside the car.
- If the vehicle has a dead battery, jump start the car.
Press the key blade approx. 1 cm straight up into the hole on the underside of the door handle/cover - do not prize. The plastic cover loosens automatically by means of the torque when the blade is pushed straight up and into the opening. Then insert the key blade in the lock cylinder and unlock the door.
