Schedule a meeting
- Select Schedule a meeting in a chat (below the box where you type a new message) to book a meeting with the people in the chat.
- Go to Calendar on the left side of the app and select New meeting in the top right corner.
- Select a range of time in the calendar. A scheduling form will pop open.
If you have a paid subscription to the full version of Microsoft Teams, you can schedule a meeting through the mobile app on Android devices as well as iPads and iPhones. To schedule a meeting, select the “Calendar” tab at the bottom of your screen and tap the “Schedule A Meeting” icon.
Currently you can't prevent this. But there is two updates coming to Teams. One will change so that only users with permissions to create meetings will be able to start meetings. So if your students don't have access to start meetings themselves, they won't be able to start others meetings.

- Enter a clear title for your meeting (if it is for a class, include the the course name and section).
- Enter any email address in the Add required attendees box.
- Set the date and time for the meeting.
- Enter a brief description for the meeting.
- Click Send once all necessary information has been filled out.
To schedule a meeting, click Meetings on the left side of the app and then click Schedule a meeting. Go to the Select a channel to meet in section: Select None to create a private meeting.
In Outlook, choose File and then Options. Select the Add-ins tab of Outlook Options dialog box. If the Teams Meeting Add-in is listed in the Disabled Application Add-ins list, select COM Add-ins in Manage and then select Go… Set the checkbox next to Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office.
Android | iOS
- Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
- Tap Schedule.
- Select the meeting options. Some of these options might not be available if they were disabled and locked to the off position at the account or group level. Topic: Enter a topic or name for your meeting.
- Tap Save to finish scheduling.
Create a private channel
- Go to the team you want to create the private channel for and choose More options. > Add channel.
- Enter a name and description for your channel.
- Under Privacy, select the down arrow on the right, and then select Private – Accessible only to a specific group of people within the team.
- Select Add.
To schedule a meeting directly from Microsoft Teams:
- From Teams, click on "Meetings" on the left side menu and select "Schedule a Meeting."
- Select the channel you want to meet with.
- Use the "Scheduling Assistant" to find a time during which everyone is available.
- Select how often you want the meeting to recur.
All you need to join a Teams meeting is a link. Select Join Microsoft Teams Meeting in your meeting invite to be taken to a page where you can choose to either join on the web or download the desktop app. If you already have the Teams app, the meeting will open there automatically.

You can join a Teams meeting anytime, from any device, whether or not you have a Teams account. Go to the meeting invite and select Join Microsoft Teams Meeting. That'll open a web page, where you'll see two choices: Download the Windows app and Join on the web instead.
on the left side of the app, selecting the meeting you want to join, and dialing the phone number provided in the meeting details. Use the phone number provided to dial in to the meeting. Instead of joining online, you can call in to a meeting with your phone.
To view the conference ID
- In the left navigation, click Users, and then select the user from the list of available users.
- At the top of the page, click Edit.
- Under Audio Conferencing, look under Conference ID. Tip.
