Web Browser
- Open Chrome.
- Go to join.zoom.us.
- Enter your meeting ID provided by the host/organizer.
- Click Join. If this is your first time joining from Google Chrome, you will be asked to open the Zoom client to join the meeting.
Zoom has all of the features that you will need and it allows you to share to more calendar solutions than GoToMeeting. There is more ability to customize the meeting itself with Zoom, and you can enable a password to be used during the meeting. The UI is also more streamlined and easy to use with Zoom.
The People pane displays all your meeting participants and gives you access to GoToMeeting controls. Click the Arrow icon next to any participant's name to see all options, including the following: Mute their audio.
Join a video meeting with a meeting link
- Open the chat message or email with the meeting link > click the meeting link.
- Click Ask to join.
- When someone in the meeting gives you access, you'll join it.

Customize your personal link
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Profile.
- Select Customize next to Personal Link.
- Enter in the ID or personal link desired.
- Click Save Changes.
Android | iOS
- Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
- Tap Schedule.
- Select the meeting options. Some of these options might not be available if they were disabled and locked to the off position at the account or group level. Topic: Enter a topic or name for your meeting.
- Tap Save to finish scheduling.
It's also assigned to you automatically once you sign up with Zoom. The regular meeting ID is also assigned to instant or scheduled meetings automatically, but its key difference from the Personal Meeting ID is that it does expire after some time: Recurring meeting IDs expire if not used for 365 days.
If you start with the noun form "has a meeting with", you can replace it with the verb form "is meeting with". Note that dropping with in the verb form tends to refer to an informal 'gathering', so going from the plain "is meeting" to "has a meeting with" tends to produce something significantly less idiomatic.
If you don't have a GoToMeeting account, you can create one here. Log on by clicking the “Sign In“ button next to your user name and password. After you have agreed to the terms, click the “Sign me up!” button. You can now choose a name for your personal mobile meeting room.
Test the connection of your desktop software
- Open Preferences.
- Click Connection in the left menu.
- Under "Test your GoToMeeting connection", click Test Connection.
- Under "Test Results", you'll see one of the following messages: Passed: You've established a connection.
- Click OK when finished.
