Slides. Loaded with tons of features, Slides is a power packed Prezi alternative. Its online editor lets you create presentations having everything from text and images, to tables and code, all of which can be granularly edited. The created presentations (called decks) can either be shared publicly, or made private.
Prezi. The main differentiation with Prezi is that, unlike PowerPoint, a Prezi presentation is NON LINEAR (a story presented to the audience with multiple paths from point A to point B). Instead of slides, Prezi gives you an unlimited canvas on which to layout your ideas.
Prezi is a true PowerPoint alternative, in the sense that it offers something completely different.
Advantages. The advantage of Prezi is that it is a new fresh way of presenting information. If your presentation is created properly, you will be sure to captivate your audience attention.
Just as PCs are often loaded with PowerPoint, Macs come with Keynote, Apple's presentation software. Like PowerPoint, Keynote is designed for creating slides, but it comes with the key advantages of visually stunning templates and a simple, clear interface.
As long as you don't mind your presentations being public, you can use Prezi for free. There are also paid account plans, which let you access other features and give you the option to make your presentations private. Go to www.prezi.com in your web browser, then select Get Started. Select a pricing option.
The privacy status of a prezi can either be: Discoverable: Anyone can find and view the prezi using a search engine, OR. Private: Anyone added as a collaborator or who has the prezi's view link can see the prezi. If you haven't added any collaborators or created a view link, then only you can see your prezi's contents.
If you're not using the correct hardware or Internet browser, Prezi won't work. Your system security settings can prevent it from working correctly. If your browser settings are incorrect, Prezi won't work. Your pop-up blocker might be preventing part of Prezi from loading.
Click on the Your Prezis button, and select the Prezi you wish to share. At the bottom of the screen, click the Share button. On the Viewing tab, click the Email link under the web address. Enter the recipient(s) email address(es) and add a note (optional.)
Click the “Insert” button on the upper part of your presentation. Click the “From File” to insert a video from your computer. Select the video you want to insert from your hard drive and double-click the file to insert it. Alternatively, you can insert a YouTube video directly into your Prezi.
Prezi is a presentation tool that can be used as an alternative to traditional slide making programs such as PowerPoint. Instead of slides, Prezi makes use of one large canvas that allows you to pan and zoom to various parts of the canvas and emphasize the ideas presented there.
So what's the deal, is Prezi a paid software or can I also use it for free? The answer is Yes, you can use it for free. To create a free account, choose the “Continue Free” button on the signup page. Prezi has many different landing pages for new free accounts but all of them lead to this same signup page.
At least there's privacy for the first 30 days, so a company could test Prezi under a real-world scenario. Beyond that, to make presentations private, the Prezi Enjoy license costs $59 per year with 500 MB of storage. For $159, Prezi Pro offers 2000 MB with the option to work offline.
Because of its unique presentation style, Prezi can use movement and metaphor to help communicate a point you're trying to make. If you want your audience to really feel a sense of space and distance between locations, you could use a map template, like in the prezi below.
PowerPoint. For many users, PowerPoint is the go-to application when looking to put together a presentation. It is more user friendly, easier to learn, and useful for most professional presentations that benefit from a linear storyline.
