Fortunately, you can read Amazon ebooks on an Apple iPad (or on Android and Windows tablets). You don't need to manually transfer files - simply download the free Kindle app from the app store on your tablet. The Kindle app on your iPad gives you access to your entire Amazon Kindle library.
The release of iOS 12 includes a revamped iBooks app. In fact, it's no longer called iBooks. It's now Apple Books, or Books for short. The basics are the same, but several new features have been added and the look and organization of the app have changed significantly.
Amazon has hundreds of thousands of e-books available to purchase and download. If you have the Kindle app for iOS, you can download and read Kindle books on your iPhone or iPad.
An iPad, just like any other device with an LCD color display (not only tablets but also phones) emits light directly into your eyes. Eye strain. It may not happen if you use an iPad for half an hour, but you'll definitely feel eye fatigue after reading a book all Sunday. A Kindle saves your eyes.
Add a collection: Make sure the My Books tab is selected at the bottom of the screen and then tap All Books at the top (you'll see a drop-down arrow).

Where are my iBooks PDFs stored? Available iBooks encoded in the ePub file format, as well as iBooks Author titles and PDF files in iCloud Drive, automatically download to your iBooks library so they can be easily accessed from any iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac you own.
Open the iBooks app. Select iBooks > Preferences > General. Select "Sync bookmarks, highlights and collections across devices." This setting is on by default.
Sync books between your Mac and iPhone or iPad
- Connect your device to your Mac.

- Select the “Sync books onto [device name]” checkbox to turn on syncing of your books.

In iOS, the option is in Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive. If you tap your way down that path, you'll find an iBooks entry in the list of apps that use iCloud Drive — the iBooks entry has a switch you can turn on that enables iBooks integration with iCloud Drive.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud (or Settings > iCloud), turn on iCloud Drive, then turn on Books. Next, go to Settings > Books, then turn on iCloud Drive.
Syncing PDFs stored in Apple Books
- Open the Settings app on your iOS home screen.
- Select the Apple ID, iCloud, iTunes, and App Store section at the top of Settings.
- Navigate to iCloud.
- Ensure that the Books option is toggled to the On position to have your Books app contents sync via iCloud (Figure D).
How to update book files with iBooks Author
- Open iBooks Author and make the updates to your book.
- Click Publish in the header, or choose Publish from the File menu.
- Follow the instructions until you reach Add Version Info.
- Select “This is an update to a previously published book” and click Continue.
When you tap the icon, a list of options will appear. Select Open In and then select “Copy to iBooks”. After the file opens in iBooks, it will automatically be saved to the reading app.

How to download a book from the Book Store
- Tap the Books app.
- Tap the Book Store tab to browse the virtual shelves.
- Tap the Sections button to get a list of sections in the Book Store.
- Tap a section to browse.
- Tap a book to download.
- Tap Get (if the book is free) or Buy if the book has a cost.
The easiest place to pick up a book for your iPad or iPhone is in the iBooks Store itself. Click on Free Books. On an iOS device, tap iBooks, tap Store, and then tap Featured at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to Quick Links at the bottom of the page and click Free Books.
To share purchased content, all family members must use the same Apple ID country or region. Music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. Apps can be downloaded to any devices the family member owns or controls.
Share iTunes, iBooks and App Store purchases. Once you've set up Family Sharing, everyone can access each others' apps, music, movies, TV shows and books. Sharing books isn't illegal, and neither is giving it to someone else. What is usually illegal however is making a copy of that book. As it is, you can't pump a book through the internet without scanning it first, which would result in a copy, which is usually illegal.
Here's what you have to do: Log into your Amazon account as you would normally, and head to the Manage Your Content and Devices page. Click the Actions button next to the book or magazine title you want to loan, and select Loan this title. Enter the recipient's email address and an optional message.
Go to the 'My Books' screen and tap the export icon. Choose a format (it should be ePub if you want to send it to Book Creator). If the other iPad has AirDrop turned on, you can tap on their name to start sending the book.
You can print directly from the iBooks Author app but interactive features are obviously not supported by paper so are unavailable. Only text and static images will be printed. The same can be said of PDF and EPUB exports. The text export will not include images.
