Adjust the iPad's volume
- Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen. A list of settings appears on the left.
- In the General settings, tap Sounds. The Sounds options appear on the right.
- Tap and drag the slider to the right to increase the volume, or to the left to lower it.
- Tap the Home button to close Settings.
If you've lost sound in app and games but not in music or headphones, then try this. Close all current apps, go to settings, control center and turn off "Access Within Apps". Then do a soft reset with the home and sleep button. Your audio/external speakers will now work in apps.
Your iPad may have no sound because if it was accidentally muted. 1) If your iPad has a mute switch, make sure it is turned off. 2) Press the volume up button to adjust the volume. Make sure the volume is high enough so you can hear the sound.
(A tiny, mighty) Speaker: One nice surprise is what a great little sound system the iPad 2 has and how much sound can come from its tiny speaker. The speaker is located on the bottom edge of the screen, below the Home button. Volume: Tap the volume rocker up for more volume and down for less.
It's not like a laptop with parts you can unplug. if you take yours into an apple store what they'll do is give you an out of warranty replacement. If your device is in warranty and the speakers are deemed due to a manufacturer's defect then it can be free, if it's not under warranty then there will be a fee.
Turn The Volume All The Way UpIf the volume on your iPhone is low, it may sound like the speakers are muffled when you receive a phone call or notification. You can also adjust the volume on your iPhone by going to Settings -> Sound & Haptics and dragging the slider under Ringer and Alerts.
Clean Your iPad Speakers
- Use Toothbrush. This is one of the simple and cost-effective ways to clean the iPad speakers.
- Use Painter's Tape. A dry toothbrush is only useful to clean the dust particles that are visible to you.
- Use Sticky Tac.
- Use Compressed Air.
I won't sugarcoat this: Most of the time, when an iPhone is making static noises, it means the speaker has been damaged. Your iPhone's software controls every sound that plays on your iPhone, so when an iPhone's software malfunctions, the speaker can too.
To silence an iPad, you can go into your Control Menu and tap the bell icon — this will fully mute all sounds. Some iPad models also have a switch on the side, which can be used to silence your iPad if you have it enabled in your Settings.
Speaker popping and crackling is caused by interrupted electrical current (audio signals) or, in other words, a loose or dirty connection. To fix crackling and popping, troubleshoot the connective wires to find the problem area and secure the connection and/or replace the cable.
The side switch is located above the volume rocker on the iPad. Apple has the side switch set to mute from the factory. For some people this works, but for others it makes more sense that the switch controls the screen rotation lock.
The sleep button is the power button in the upper right corner of the iPad. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
To unmute yourself and begin talking, click the Unmute button (microphone) in the bottom-left corner of the meeting window. To mute yourself, click the Mute button (microphone). A red slash will appear over the microphone icon indicating that your audio is now off.
