Rate music in your library
- Go to Settings , then tap Music.
- Turn on Show Star Ratings.
- In Music, touch and hold a song in your library, tap Rate Song, then choose a rating from one to five stars.
Customize your library
By clicking the "Edit" button in the upper right-hand corner, you can alter what tabs appear in your library. If you listen to a lot of classical music, for example, you can add a "Composers" tab to keep your music organized. If you prefer to sort your music by genre, there's a tab for that too.Go to the “Settings” app and then to “Cellular” and scroll down until you find the app(s) in question that are auto-playing music in the car from your iPhone. Turn the switch to the “OFF” position to stop them from using cellular data. This works to stop music auto-play streaming from Apple Music and the Music app.
In Apple's iTunes, a Genius playlist is a special automatically generated playlist based on a specific music selection. By choosing a song and creating a Genius playlist, iTunes will create a playlist of related songs from the available music in your library.
2.Organize Track, Artist, and Genre
- Open iTunes, then go to “My Music“.
- Choose “Songs” in the drop-down list in the upper-right corner of the window.
- Sort your music by “Artist” by selecting the top of the column.
- Make sure the “Album by Artist/Year” and “Genre” columns are view-able.
Thanks to iOS 13.2, the app now has a History page that allows you to view all of the songs you've listened to — in order — with just a few taps and swipes. To access your Apple Music listening history, open the app and tap the Now Playing bar (the current song) at the bottom of the screen.
How to put a song on repeat on your iPhone in Apple Music
- Start the Music app and select a song to play. Start playing the song you want to repeat.
- Tap the song bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Repeat button until it lights up with a small "1" above it.
In the iTunes app on your Mac, choose Music from the pop-up menu at the top left, then click Library. Select the song or CD you want to edit, then choose Edit > [Item] Info (or press Command-I). Click Details, make your changes, then press the Enter or Return key.
Check settings>your name>iTunes and app stores> tap on your Apple ID > enter your password>subscriptions> Apple Music. If you see a cancel subscription button close the settings app with out pressing the button. Make sure data is enabled. If that doesn't resolve it restart your device.
iTunes is a music store where you can purchase songs and download them. Apple Music is a subscription-based streaming service. With iTunes, you pay to own a license of a song. With Apple Music, you pay for access to a catalog of songs through a monthly subscription fee.
Swipe down from the top on any Home screen on your iPhone > Enter Music in the search bar > If the Music app is on your iPhone, it will appear under the search bar and you can tap to open it. To put the Music app to Home screen, keep read Tip 2 to get the method.
The people most willing to pay for a music-streaming subscription may be the toughest for Apple to sign up, then. So if you're looking for a paid streaming service, Apple Music is worth paying for. But if you're happy getting your music for free, you'll probably want to save yourself £9.99 a month.
Then click on iTunes Store in the upper left hand corner, then CLICK IN THE SEARCH (upper left hand corner) AND ENTER SOMETHING TO SEARCH FOR, THEN you will see the "Apple Music, Your Library, Apple Store" options in the upper right hand corner.
Open the Apple Music app on your Android device. From the bottom of the screen, tap Library, For You, Browse, or Radio. , then tap Settings. Scroll to the Restrictions section, then tap Content Restrictions.
Using the web player
- Go to the Google Play Music web player.
- Click Menu. Music Library.
- Click Albums or Songs.
- Hover over the song or album you want to download.
- Click More. Download or Download album.
Load music onto your device using a USB cable
- Download and install Android File Transfer on your computer.
- If your screen is locked, unlock your screen.
- Connect your computer to your device using a USB cable.
- Locate music files on your computer and drag them into your device's Music folder in Android File Transfer.
A Smart Playlist contains a set of rules that iTunes follows to add songs to the playlist. For example, create a Smart Playlist of songs that you rated five stars, played more than 50 times, or added to your iTunes library in the last 30 days.
In Apple Music in iTunes, either right-click the song and select Love or click the three-dot icon under the Time column and select Love. Just keep in mind that if you mark songs you love in Apple Music, the song must be added to your library in order for it to be added to the Smart Playlist you create.
Spotify doesn't really have an equivalent, although when you create a station from a song, album, artist, or playlist, Spotify Radio creates picks the music for you, and while Apple Music has the same feature, Spotify's suggestion algorithm is generally much better.
Apple Music learns the music you like and recommends songs, albums, and playlists based on your tastes. In the Music app , For You lets you discover playlists created by Apple Music experts, albums based on your tastes, and music your friends are listening to.
Click the Smart Playlist that has the issue and from the iTunes menu bar select Edit > Select All. From the iTunes menu bar select File > New Playlist from Selection. Enter a name for your playlist. Sync the new playlist with your iPhone or iPod.
To find your top artists and songs on Apple Music, all you need to do is open the Web Player, sign in with your Apple ID and select Get Your Replay Mix. This then results in a select number of playlists based on your favourite and most listened to songs, albums, artists and more.

The new Music App (old iTunes) does not have 'genre' in its library as a separate category. I worked out that you need to select Album>View>Sort By>Genre. The result is one large list and NOT the individual list of genres as in iTunes.

When you are on the start screen of the music player, under the album art which is at the top, are some magenta letters that may say "artist", "album", "composer", etc. Touch the drop down arrow and select "genre" then simply touch the ICON to the left of the genre you want and a song should start to play.
Open music app. Ensure iTunes store is showing in left hand column if it isn't open preferences and tick box for iTunes store under General tab Type your search enquiry into search box at top left.
