Turn Video Call On / Off - HD Voice - LG Lancet™ for Android™
- From a Home screen, tap on Phone . If unavailable, navigate: Apps > Phone .
- Tap Menu icon. (located in the upper right).
- Tap Call settings.
- Tap Video calling to turn on or off .
- Tap OK. Review the disclaimer regarding billing and data usage.
When you are ready to make your first voice or video call:
- Go to your Hangouts page or to the sidebar in Gmail.
- Click the name of a person in the contacts list. Click additional names to start a group video call.
- Click the video camera icon.
- Enjoy your video call.
Recently, Google began rolling out a feature that integrated the Google Meet button in the company's mail app, Gmail. This allowed users to start a meeting on Google Meet by simply clicking a button right next to the Mail button in Gmail for both Android and iOS.
FaceTime is not supported by Google devices or platforms, including GMail.
Google Meet, previously named Google Hangouts Meet, is Google's premium video conferencing software, provided as part of G Suite. There's also a free version of Meet. Meet is similar to the video chat service provided in the consumer Hangouts but supports far more participants. Meet can be found at meet.google.com.
Here's a quick guide for you on how to make Google Meet calls using Gmail. If you are a Gmail user then Meet option will be available at the bottom right corner of the screen next to the 'mail' option. * To start click on the Meet option.
There is no time limit for online meetings run through Google Hangouts or the Google Hangout Chrome extension. Meeting hosts are provided with all the usual free conference calling features like the ability to mute/unmute participants, call recording, and mobile phone apps to enable you to attend a meeting on the go.
How to make a conference call on Android. You can also make a conference call direct from an Android device by calling the first person then tapping the Add Call icon once the call is connected. Then dial the second person and hit the merge or merge calls icon. Repeat this for each participant.
Present during a meeting
- Join a video meeting.
- In the bottom-right corner, select Present now.
- Select Your entire screen, A window, or Chrome tab. If you present a Chrome tab, it shares that tab's audio by default.
- Select Share.
- If someone is presenting, confirm that you want to present instead.
Make sure you're logged into Google with your MPS email address and password.
- Go to meet.google.com.
- You may be asked to turn your camera and microphone on—click Allow.
- Click Join or start a meeting.
- Create and enter a nickname.
- Click Continue.
- Click Join now.
Join a meeting using a phone numberEnter the phone number that's in the Google Calendar event or meeting invitation. Then, enter the PIN and #. From the Meet or Calendar app, tap the phone number. The PIN is automatically entered.
Google+ Now Lets You Conference People Into Hangouts With Free Voice Calls. Hangouts could be the new way to conference call. To activate the feature, simply start a Hangout, click the Invite button at the top, select “Phone”, and enter a phone number. If the recipient picks up, they'll be instantly connected.
In the Zoom mobile app, click Meetings. Click Start next to the meeting you want to start.
How to schedule a Google Meet in Google Calendar on mobile
- Open the Google Calendar app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Tap on the multicolored + button at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap on Event.
- Scroll down, and tap Add conferencing.
- Tap Google Meet.
- Set a time, add participants, and set notification reminders.
You can't mute or unmute a presentation in Google Meet because a presentation is not a participant in a video conference.

Google Hangouts is available for free for receiving and making calls and video conferencing.
The great news is that until September 30, 2020, all users can have video calls of up to 250 people (one way Google is supporting small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic). After that, free users can only host up to 100 people, all of whom need to have Google accounts, for a maximum of 60 minutes.
