To run a report in the Configuration Manager consoleIn the Configuration Manager console, select Monitoring. In the Monitoring workspace, expand Reporting, and then select Reports to list the available reports. If no reports are listed, verify that the reporting services point is installed and configured.
New SCCM Installation
- Mount and open the SCCM ISO that was previously downloaded from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Site.
- Run Splash.hta.
- Select Install.
To install the Reporting Services Point role, Launch the Configuration Manager Console. Under Site Configuration, click on Sites. On the right hand side right click the Site IND and click “Add Site System Roles“. Select Reporting services point and click Next.
To modify a report
- In the Configuration Manager console, select Monitoring.
- In the Monitoring workspace, expand Reporting, and then select Reports.
- From the list of reports, select the report that you want to view properties for and then, in the Home tab, in the Report Group group, select Edit.

Take the following steps to access the SQL Server Configuration Manager via Computer Manager:
- Click the Windows key + R to open the Run window.
- Type compmgmt.
- Click OK.
- Expand Services and Applications.
To configure a URL for the Report Server Web service
- Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to a local report server instance.
- Click Web Service URL.
- Specify the virtual directory.
- Specify the IP address that uniquely identifies the report server computer on the network.
- Specify the port.
To connect to a SharePoint integrated mode report server
- If Object Explorer isn't already open it, select it from the View menu.
- Select Connect to view the list of server types, and then select Reporting Services.
- Select the Authentication type.
- Select Connect.
Install your report server
- Find the location of SQLServerReportingServices.exe and launch the installer.
- Select Install Reporting Services.
- Choose an edition to install and then select Next.
- Read and agree to the license terms and conditions and then select Next.
The version of an installed reporting services service can be found easily at the bottom of the page when you browse to For the edition, you can check the system registry.
While SSRS Report Deploy, if you are facing the error "Could not connect to the report serverReportServer" then you need to check "Report Server Status" in "Reporting Services Configuration Manager". Then "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" Window will open.
Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services to open the Services management console. Right-click the SQL Server Reporting Services ([InstanceName]) service, and then click Restart.
Report Builder is a tool for authoring paginated reports, for business users who prefer to work in a stand-alone environment instead of using Report Designer in Visual Studio / SSDT. You can also publish a paginated report to the Power BI service.
Steps to Setup Report Server Configuration ManagerClick on Connect and insert a Server Name and Select Report Server Instance as shown below, then click on Connect. Then, click on Service Account. Now you have to sign up for a Report Server Service Account.
A query is a question you define and send to the data source to retrieve the data. A report is an organized and formatted view of the data the query retrieved. After you run the query, data items in the query have this icon whether or not they are included in the report.
How to export a Report
- After a report has been run, in the toolbar, click the File menu, point to Export, and then click the format you want to export the file to.
- In the Save As dialog box, select the folder where you want to save the report, and then click Save.
