Never spray alcohol or another liquid directly on your computer or laptop screen. Use another clean microfiber cloth with a small amount of 70%+ Isopropyl Alcohol or a 70%+ alcohol cleaning wipe. Wipe down your entire screen and be sure to get the edges.
Can you use eyeglass cleaner on your laptop screen? The anti-reflective coating on a screen is similar to that on anti-reflective eyeglasses and camera lenses. You can safely use the cleaner on all three, with a clean microfiber cloth.
Make your cleaning solution: Mix a solution of half white vinegar, half distilled water. This cleaning solution is effective yet gentle. Dip a microfiber cloth into the solution: Never spray any cleaning solution directly onto your screen.
More delicate LCD, plasma or rear-projection screens can't handle traditional wet cleaning. Instead, dust them with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Spot-clean stubborn smudges with a pre-moistened wipe designed for electronics. With your microfiber cloth, go over buttons and the back of the TV to nab dust in the vents.
1. Screen Mom Screen Cleaner Kit. The spray is super effective at breaking up dirt and grime, and wipes clean with the included microfiber cloth, with no streaks. The spray works wonders on laptop screens, computer monitors and TVs, but is also safe for phones and tablets too.
Using a baby wipe to clean a flat screen TV will leave a residue on the screen and is NOT recommended. Consumer Reports recommends using a soft cloth dampened with distilled water (never sprayed) to clean a flat screen TV while the TV is turned off.
First try using a dry, anti-static cloth and rubbing gently. Use water to lightly moisten a clean, soft, dry cloth, and then rub the screen gently. Do not let water run down screen or enter behind screen frame. Wipe with dry cloth after cleaning.
Start by dusting TV screens with a dry microfiber cloth. This will often do the trick to remove dust and smudges, making further cleaning unnecessary. If streaks or stains remain, Reichert suggests wetting a microfiber cloth with water (distilled water is best) and wringing the cloth until it's almost dry.
To clean a flat-screen TV, first, turn it off and unplug it. Then use a dry microfiber cloth made for electronics or glass to wipe off any dust and debris. If you have any hard-to-remove stains, you can dampen your cloth with distilled water and a small amount of soap.
Clean your Samsung TV
- Turn the TV off and let it cool down for a few minutes before unplugging it.
- To clean the frame and screen, gently wipe it with a microfiber cleaning cloth.
- If you don't see results, spray distilled water on to your microfiber cleaning cloth and gently wipe the frame and screen.
Lightly wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth dampened with a 50/50 distilled water and white vinegar mixture. For 99% of your everyday dust and finger prints, a damp microfiber cloth will save the day.
Rubbing alcoholIf your microfiber cloth isn't able to remove any smudges, mix a solution of half water and half rubbing alcohol. Dip the corner of a soft, cotton cloth in the mixture, squeeze out any excess liquid, and gently wipe down the screen.
In an empty spray bottle, mix a solution of equal parts distilled water and white vinegar. Spray the solution onto a microfiber cloth (or an old cotton t-shirt). Do not use any sort of paper towel, toilet paper, or tissue to clean your screen as these products can scratch your monitor.
Last but not least, hand sanitizer can be used to clean away smudges on glass surfaces. Yes, this means your precious iPhone or computer screen can be smudge free with a simple spray and wipe.
Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cable. Wipe the screen gently with a soft, dry cloth. If any marks remain, moisten the cloth with LCD cleaner, and then gently stroke the cloth across the display in one direction, moving from top to bottom.
If you have a
laptop that's still functioning, though, consider recycling or donating it.

- Tap Erase all data.
- Tap Reset Phone, enter your PIN, and select Erase Everything.
Mix a couple drops of Dawn (or another, inferior dish soap) and a couple cups of warm water together, dip your lint-free cloth in the soapy mixture, wring out, and wipe down the surfaces. Rinse out the cloth with clean water and wipe down again. Lastly, to avoid water streaks, wipe down a third time with a dry cloth.
Glasses should never be cleaned or wiped with a dry cloth, as this may scratch the lenses. DO NOT clean your lenses with Windex or other chemicals, as these products may damage the material or coating of the lenses.
