The phone number is tied to the sim card, not to the phone. This means that if you want any specific phone number tied to a specific sim card, you'll need to contact the carrier who provided you with that sim card and ask them to transfer the phone number you want to your new sim card.

This issue usually arises when a customer has just ported in from a different provider. Each Skinny SIM card is provisioned to have an assigned mobile number that starts with 0204. In some cases, the number brought over does not update the device and therefore sending out text messages using the assigned 0204 number.
It changes your number everywhere on your iPhone (That is, it doesn't change your number on the SIM or the network). An example where your number is used is under contacts in your phone app. If you scroll to the very top it displays the number you've set in the preferences. So really, it doesn't change much.
If you don't see your phone number, get help with your settings or contact Apple Support. If you see a number that isn't yours, change your Apple ID password. To turn off your phone number, uncheck it.
If you install some
SIM management apps on your
Android phone, you can access and

Can I still keep my number if I'm moving to a SIM Only deal? Yes, you can. If you move from one network to another then you need to ask your old network for a PAC code, and give it to your new network within 30 days. Your new network will port your mobile number over to your new SIM.
SIM cards are exclusive, so their information is unique. What does that mean? The mobile number and all the stored data in each SIM card cannot be copied or duplicated. Remember that SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module, so once you insert it in your cell phone; it is your phone's I.D.
You can take the SIM card out, put it into another phone, and if someone calls your number, the new phone will ring. You can also put a different SIM card in your unlocked phone, and your phone will then work with whatever phone number and account is linked to that card. In Europe, unlocked phones are more common.
