The notice states that Weight, Calorie and Caffeine tracking will no longer be available in new versions of Samsung Health. If you use widgets for tracking these metrics on a Samsung smartwatch or fitness tracker, they will no longer be able to sync that content to Samsung Health once it gets updated to version 6.11.

I assume distances are calculated based on an estimation of your stride length, which itself is estimated based on your height. A quick fix would be inputting our own stride lengths (e.g: input one for running and another for walking), but the S Health app doesn't provide this feature.
Set a targetNavigate to and open the Samsung Health app. Tap your desired tracker, and then tap More options (three dots). Tap Set target, and then swipe left or right to increase or decrease the target. The Tracker will now display your custom target on the Home tab.

Samsung Health is the company's take on fitness tracking. Samsung Health is more than just a glorified step or calorie tracker. It can track your weight, calorie intake/burn, steps, runs, heart rate, stress levels, caffeine intake, blood pressure, sleep, blood glucose, bike rides, hikes, and a lot more.
Samsung Health and Google Fit in particular are pretty good. They keep track of things like steps and calories. Both apps also integrate with Samsung smart watches and Wear OS watches, respectively. They can also set goals, keep track of things like your weight and give you some motivational quotes if that helps you.

Once completed, go into MyFitnessPal and find Apps & Devices under the Menu Bar. Search for Samsung Health and then tap Connect.
