Here's how to track your swims.
- Go to the Account tab in the Fitbit app.
- Scroll to Advanced Settings.
- Input the length of the pool you'll be swimming in, in yards or meters.

Fitbit unveils new tracker for swimming. It's is water resistant up to 50 meters and is safe for both pool and ocean swimming. The device also tracks steps, automatically recognizes exercises like running and cycling and gives smartphone notifications through patterns in its lights.
The good news is that all Fitbit trackers and smartwatches are water resistant. They can handle rain, sweat, and doing the dishes. But not all Fitbits are safe for swimming. The Flex 2, the Ionic, and the Versa are swim-proof to 50 meters.
Like the original Flex, the Flex 2 also tracks sleep and can record your workouts. A nice bonus is that it's also water-resistant up to 164 feet. That means you can take it in the shower or go swimming with the device. Be sure to wear your Flex 2 on your non-dominant hand for accuracy.
Is the Fitbit Charge 3 waterproof? Best answer: Technically no, but the Charge 3 is water resistant for up to 50 meters, meaning you can go swimming, take a shower, and get caught in the rain without worry about it malfunctioning.
Fitbit rates the Versa as water-resistant to 50 meters, meaning you could quite literally take it scuba diving. Fitbit does recommend thoroughly drying your Versa each time it gets wet, which will help keep the materials in top condition.

How to do it:
- Warm up for 15 minutes, adding a few 20-second bursts at the end to prepare for the workout.
- Run, bike, or row for 30 seconds at a nearly all-out effort. Take three minutes active recovery and repeat the 30 on/3 off pattern five or six more times.
- Finish with a 10-minute cooldown.

You can view the automatically detected exercise in your Fitbit app and adjust the duration for each exercise type.
