The Purchase
Paying with your iPhone at Starbucks is pretty straightforward. Fire up the Mobile Card app while you're waiting in line, and when it's your turn, ask the cashier to use your iPhone app for payment. In the app's main “Cards” window, your gift card card is shown. Thanks to Redditor ABZR, we see that you can transfer gift card balances onto you Google Wallet account just like a debit card. Once you've loaded up your Wallet Balance with your gift cards, you can proceed to any ATM and withdraw your money to purchase "cash friendly" items with the card.
Here's how to do it:
- Make sure you download the new version of the Starbucks app.
- Next open the app.
- After you're all signed in, head to the "My Card" section at the bottom.
- In case that doesn't work, simply tap "Manage" and you will be given the option to "Add Card to Passbook."
You may use the value of your Starbucks Card when making a purchase at any participating Starbucks store. You may also opt to split the payment on a transaction using the value of your Starbucks Card and any credit card, debit card, or cash at our stores.
Enter the gift card number using one of the following options:
- Enter the code that the customer gives you.
- Use our supported 2D barcode scanner to scan the barcode (the 2D scanner is the only supported scanner that can read a gift card's QR barcode).
- Use the front-facing camera on your iPad.
