South Padre Island is one of the best Spring Break destinations for families. A lot of people forget that the Island is a year-round family destination, and that Spring Break is a great time of year to enjoy the beautiful beaches, great outdoor activities, and pre-summer season pricing.
The summer vacation in the state of California starts around the end of May. There are times, depending on the school, that it begins in the first week of June. The summer break lasts for about two months to two months and a half. So if you start by the end of May, it would end around the middle of August.
Spring Breakers have worn out their welcome in a lot of places in Florida. Stay away from cheap hotels, public beaches, and sponsored outdoor "events," especially if they involve beer, and you should be OK.
