AppleCare+ costs $300 to cover a new iPhone XS or XS Max, or $15 per month for 24 months. It's not cheap! But, if you're already spending at least $1,000 on an iPhone XS, it's absolutely worth the purchase. If you have AppleCare+, and you break the back of your phone, you'll only be paying $99 to repair it.
AppleCare+ for iPhone provides expert technical support and additional hardware coverage from Apple, including up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months. Each incident is subject to a service fee of A$45 for screen damage, or A$149 for any other damage.
You can get Apple-certified repairs and service at the Apple Store or with one of our Apple Authorized Service Providers. You can also send your iPhone to an Apple Repair Center. The technicians at all these locations receive Apple training. They deliver the same high-quality service with genuine Apple parts.
Apple charges anywhere from $349 – $599 to repair the broken back glass on iPhone models 8-11 Pro Max*. They don't consider the back glass to fall under their more affordable “screen replacement” repair, which makes this type of fix much more expensive.
Apple Care is available to purchase within 60 days of the iphone purchase. Apple Care cannot be purchased after the fact. Once the device has been damaged, it is no longer eligible for Apple care.
Express Replacement Service is a benefit of your AppleCare+ coverage. We can send you a replacement iPhone before you return your product to us. We'll include packaging to return your damaged or non-working product. Contact Apple to make an Express Replacement Service request.

You can tell if your iPhone has water damage by removing the SIM tray and looking for a red color inside the SIM card slot. If it's red, that means the Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) has been activated and there is water damage. It should appear white or silver if there is no damage.
